The car ride to the beach was silent. Everyone chose no on the public pool. They all said they wanted to stay longer then what the pool was open for. So beach it was.

Surprisingly the beach wasn't too packed. There was only a few families. Giving emptiness to majority of the beach. Which was fine with me. I hated big crowds.

"Aunt Winnie come on! Come on! Let's go."

I couldn't help but giggle lightly at Henry's impatient child self. His excitement barely contained.
His little body jumping up and down. A huge smile on his adorable face.

"Well little buddy you need to get sunscreen on and your floaties. You know the rules."

Henry turned his attention to Oakley and Leah.

"Mooooommmmmm!"

Leah started laughing as she grabbed the lotion. I focused on getting down to my bikini.

"Thanks for coming. I know you don't like swimming."

I looked at Kira and smiled.

"You're right. I haven't been showing up for you lately. I need to start. You've been a really good friend and haven't left my side. I'm sorry."

Kira looked at me with tears in her eyes. A small smile on her face as she looked at me. Kira couldn't stop herself. She jumped into my arms hugging me.

"I should have been with you that night. I bailed and I'm sorry."

I pulled back from the hug. Looking straight at Kira. Sadness covering my face.

"I'm glad you wasn't. I don't think I would have survived you dying."

Kira looked at me with tears running down her face. I gave her a small smile. Trying to keep my own tears from starting.

I wiped her tears away and moved her straight, long black hair out of her face. Her deep brown eyes staring at me.

"You called me that night. You were crying hysterically. It was before the accident. All you said was that something happened and you had to go to the police station. You sounded freaked out. Everyone did."

I looked at Kira confused. Trying to remember it but I couldn't. No matter how hard I tried. I couldn't remember the conversation, why Was I was crying. It was like a big black section in my stupid fucking foggy brain.

"It'll come back to you."

I looked at Kira shaking my head.

"That makes me want to not remember even more now."

Kira looked at me and before she could say anything henry grabbed my hand. Pulling me forward with all his might.

"Come on! Let's go Aunt Winnie."

I couldn't help but laugh at him. I looked Kira and smiled as I walked away with Henry. Henry wasted not a single second before running into the water. Screaming with happiness.

However his scream and the water opened my mind. Partially.

"Winnie drive faster! He's catching up!"

I looked at my friend Lola. She was crying and shaking with fear. I looked in my rear view mirror and my friends Nate, Max, and Kayla were all looking out the back window.

At the headlights gaining on us. The huge truck closing the distance fast. The truck caught up within moments. Moments that went by way too fast.

The truck clipped the back of my car. Sending my car spiraling. I was trying to control my car but I couldn't. He hit me too hard and in just the right spot.
