Chapter 36 part 2 (teaser)

Mariam's POV:

I opened my eyes and looked to my side. Shane was not next to me. I got out of bed carefully and gripped the railing as I got up. I checked the whole room and tried not to panic. What if the same person who took Ramzi took Shay.

Oh dear god, no.

"Shay!" I yelled in a panic voice as I walked out the room. Cristina ran up to me and I held her arm in case of falling. I was already dizzy enough.

"Where's Shay?" I asked her and her eyes widened.

"What do you mean, Shay was sleeping next to you about half an hour ago?" She asked me and I felt my heartbeats speed up.

"He was and when I woke up, he wasn't there I'm afraid that someone t-took him." I said as I pulled my cardigan closer to my body.

"Greg!" I yelled as I moved past Cristina who was framing out on the inside.

"Yes." He responded and he was acting casually.

"Where's Shane?" I asked him and he shrugged. Cristina stood next to me and she looked like she was about to faint. I mean it is her son after all.

"He had a meeting and he said he will be back tonight." Greg responded as he walked away from me and I wanted to kill both of them.

No way that he left me and everyone here for a business meeting.

Ahmad is between life and death and all he could think of was work.

"How's Ahmad?" I asked Ayah as I took a seat next to her. She is still in the same spot I left her.

"He is still the same. No progress and no set backs." She replied as she pulled out her phone and unlocked it. I was an iPhone six and the wallpaper was a picture of Ahmad and her sitting on a bench in the park. They both had huge smiles on their faces and she was just staring at the picture. She was silently crying and shaking.

"Did you know that our wedding was supposed to be in three days?" She asked me as she wiped a tear that fell on her cheek.

"Yes, he told me about it." I said and she nodded.

"Yes, we were both very excited and looking forward to spending the rest of our lives!" She said as she sobbed and I was feeling far from worse.

This girl is in love with Ahmad truly, madly, and deeply.

"He will be okay, inshallah!" I said as I wrapped my arms around her. She didn't hug me back, but she nodded against my shoulder.

"Ayah!Ayah!" The nurse yelled after she came out of Ahmad's room.

"That's me!" She said as she got up from next to me. The nurse was shaking. Please Ahmad be okay.

"The patient is calling out for you!" She said and Ayah immediately ran into the room. I followed after her and she grabbed his hand tightly. His eyes were still closed, but he was calling

I stood next to her as everyone piled up in the room. Ahmad was calling out to Ayah and she was trying to wake him up by her grip on him.

All of the sudden his eyes flew open and I gasped. He is waking up. I looked at Ayah, whose tears were falling from her eyes.

"He's waking up!" She yelled to the doctors out the room. Diego dragged both Ayah and I out of the room, as instructed from the doctor. They said we weren't supposed to be in there. Then at that same moment I spotted Shay walking through the hallway. He wasn't looking at me and he was staring at the ground. We made eye contact for a split second, but then he looked away quickly. He had a black eye and his eyes were red, very red.

Which could only mean one thing, Ramzi.
