Chapter 39.

( May 2015 )

August.

I placed a pack of gum onna register along wit' all da' otha' shit I was payin' fa'. Da' broad behind da' counter looked at me funny so I mugged ha' ass.

"What?"

"Nothin',"She kept ringin' it up.

I smacked ma' lips,"Da' shit fa' my ol'lady son. Fuck I look like buyin' myself some chocolate and tampons?"

"I wasn't gonna say anythin–"

"Yeah, bet."I took money outta my back pocket.

I guess you'ca say I was in a bad ass mood. My sink broke again and ion even know da' fuck how. I got into a la'accident this mawnin' and fucked my truck up. And ta' put da' icing on da' cake, I cracked my phone screen cause I forgot it was on my lap when I got outta da' car.

So at dis point all I wanted ta' do was get home ta' my baybeh.

I paid fa' everything I needed and dipped. I ain't want take no mo' cash outta da' bank so I was jus' gon' have ta' wait till da' next time I got paid ta' fix da' shit.

April ain't know it yet, but I was gon' use da' money in da' bank ta' buy us a crib. I know it's dirty money but I might as well put it ta' good use. I ain't tell ha' yet cause ion know if she ready fa' dat step. We only been togetha' fa' three months so I guess dat would be movin' a lil too fast. Movin' too fast fa' ha' anyway cause I'm mo' than ready.

Once I finally pulled up to my crib I grabbed da' things and headed into da' house. All da' lights was out meanin' April ain't get up since I left.

"Bae!"I shut da' do' wit' my foot.

"In the room!"

She sounded in a lot of pain so I was quick ta' get ta' ha' and give ha' what she needed.

"Hea',"I handed ha' da' bags,"I got what I knew you usually liked."

"Thank you,"She groaned sittin' up and takin' da' bags wit' ha' ta' da' bathroom.

While I waited fa' ha' ta' come out, my phone started ringin'. I couldn't even see da' caller I.D so I jus' answered.

"Wazzam?"

"Aye man.

"Trav, what it do fool?'

"Ain't nun', ain't nun'. I was jus' callin' ta' check up on ya' and sis."

"Shid, you couldn't have called at a worse time."

"Why? What's goin' down?"

"Shit all bad fa' us right na'. I fucked my car up dis mawnin' and April ain't feelin' too well."

"Nun' but da' devil huh?"

"Nothin' but him,"I cleared my throat,"How you been though bruh? It's been a lil minute."

"I been coolin' if I'm gon' be honest. Marriage lookin' good, baybeh growin' everyday, lookin' afta' mama."

"Mm,"I grunted at dat.

"C'mon na' bruh, tell me ya' ain't still hol'in onto dat."He sighed.

Back in March, shit ain't go too well fa' Mardi Gras. It started off good but when Bernard brung his ass round thea' shit turned sour. I found out he put his hands on my mama befo' and instead of ha' havin' my back about him leavin' da' crib, she let his bum ass stay. It was jus' like I was dat weak ass 17 year old boy again. Gettin' pushed ta' da' side by my mama cause of dat lame ass, doped up ass nigga.
