"What was that?" Leah asked.
"I think someone's throwing something towards the window, I'll go check." Max said, going towards the window.
"Max, be careful." Diana said.
Max opened the window and saw fire round the mailbox. Confused, he called the others. They ran out quickly and went downstairs to quench the fire.
When the fire ess out Thomas saw something on the mailbox, it was a rope tied on the stand, a black rope, nit looked strange so he alerted the others.
"Guys, come over here, look at this." Thomas spoke, quickly gaining their attention.
"What is it Thomas?" Adams asked.
"This rope, who tied it round the mail stand and why is it black?" Thomas asked back.
"I don't see anything wrong with it." Leah said.
As Adams bent down to loosen the thread something fell from the mailbox. Alex picked it, it was a letter.
"This mailbox obviously belongs to this house and this house has been deserted for years, this whole area has been abandoned by it's occupants. So who could have sent a letter here? No mailman would even dare to coke anywhere close to this vicinity, no mortal can come here, so how did this letter het here?" Alex asked looking at the letter.
"Open it and read it out loud." Diana said.
"No don't do that. I'm certain that this wasn't sent by just any ordinary person. Don't open it now, let's all go inside so you read it indoors." Adams said.
"Hold on, just to be sure guys, shouldn't we cast a protection spell incase this letter carries something on it?" Thomas asked when they were finally in.
"I don't think so." Adams replied.
"Okay, let me read the letter now. It says: THIS IS JUST A WARNING- STAY OUT OF THINGS WHICH DO NOT CONCERN YOU. THIS BATTLE IS FOR YOUR LEAGUE AND NOT FOR LITTLE TEENS LIKE YOU. YOU HAVE HEARD LEAH'S DREAM, WE COULD KILL YOU ALL. THIS IS A BATTLE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL, BUT GOOD WOULD NOT PREVAIL THIS TIME. THIS BATTLE IS NOT FOR LITTLE UPCOMING WITCHES, IT IS FOR THE MATURE AMD EXPERIENCED WITCHES (YOUR LEAGUE), SO STAY OUT OF THIS. LONG LIFE." Alex read out.
"My, what's it signed?" Adams asked her.
"It's signed...." Alex stopped abruptly.
"Come on, why'd you stop?" Max asked, scared.
"What's it signed Alex? Tell us, please" Leah said.
Alex was scared, her hands were already very cold and shaking. While her hands were cold, she started sweating amd her body became unusually hot. Leah noticed it when she touched her.
"Are you fine Alex?" Leah asked her, trying to take the letter from her but she held it firmly.
"What's wrong with her?" Thomas asked.
"Her temperature feels very high, she feels hot and her hands are cold and shaking, she is also sweating a lot." Leah said, touching Alex's forehead.
"Something's wrong." Max said as he snatched the letter from Alex who just stood like a statue with widely opened eyes.
He looked at the letter searching for a reasonably signature. In seeing the unusual signature, he threw the piece of paper away immediately.
"Okay now I'm convinced that there's something wrong with that letter 'cus Alex and Max were fine earlier." Thomas said, fearfully.
"I'll take that." Adams said, picking up the letter from the floor. "Oh no!" He said as he sat down.
"Adams is something wrong with you too?" Leah asked him.
"Did you guys notice something in that letter too?" Alex finally spoke.
"Alex, you're okay?" Leah asked her.
"Yeah, some kind of spell was casted on that paper, it's not ordinary."
"I noticed it too, when I looked into the letter, I saw moving snakes." Max said.
"Exactly what us happening here? Alex and Max suddenly started acting strangely, then moving snakes on a paper, someone explain all of this!" Diana shouted in fright and confusion.
"It's signed with the symbol of the Dark Side." Leah said, looking at the letter.
