The next morning came with a different feeling for both mother and daughter. As soon as Alex woke up to a new day, the day didn't feel new to her anymore. Her mind drifted to the previous day.

She sighed and said; "Actually felt like a new day while I was asleep." With that she got ready for the day. She went downstairs to meet her mom and Stephanie already having breakfast.

"And nobody thought it was necessary to call me?" She spoke, joining them.

"Well I was going to. But mom said you had a long night, whatever that means. So she told me to let you rest." Stephanie replied her.

"So I'd be late for school huh?" Alex joked, pouring some juice from a jug into a cup.

"Honey, maybe you should take the day off today?" Lyla spoke.

Alex paused and looked her mom for a while and it seemed they had a brief talk with their eyes until Alex said, "Nah, I'm good mom." With that she emptied her cup and faced Stephanie.

"Yo Steph, why don't we go to school together today?"
Stephanie looked at Alex with wide eyes.

"Uh...you don't want to . "

"Of course I want for, I'd love to! But why this offer? What are your motives lady?" Stephanie looked at her elder sister like a suspicious detective jokingly. Alex laughed.

"What? I just want to be with my sweet little sister for a while." Alex said, smiling widely as she curled one arm found Stephanie's shoulders.

"Yeah sweet!" Stephanie laughed out heartily.

"Well we'll be leaving now." She said, picking her bag from the floor.

"What? It's still early and Alex hasn't even had anything to eat yet." Lyla spoke quickly.

"Mom I'm fine, don't worry about it " Alex said but her mom really wasn't going to take any of it.

"Listen Alex, you may leave thus house only after having your breakfast and if you're not going to have it here I'm going to pack some food for you and you're going to have to take it. Agreed?"

"But mom..."

"Yes or no Alex?"

"Mom I.." Stephanie pinched Alex before she could go on.

Alex got the message and said; "Fine Mon, you can pack as much food as you want for me, I'll take it."

"That's my girl." Lyla said as she happily rushed to the kitchen. "I'm packing some for you too Stephanie." She shouted.

"I love you mom." Stephanie Shouted back.
