Later that day the group members met in the house following Alex's call, she told them all what Leah said.
"I still can't believe Leah would do this." Diana said, surprised.
"Adams?" Alex faced Adams who had no expression on his face and looked like he represented silence itself at that moment. He looked at her and back at nothing.
"Adams." She called his name again.
"What is it Alex? There's nothing to be done! We lost her." He said. Now Alex could read something from his face, he was pained. Indeed Leah had truly exceeded their expectations, though negatively.
"I guess it's just five of us now." Thomas said, shrugging casually.
"We're going to have to put an end to this. Darkness didn't just wrong our realm, they wronged us and our friend, they stole her from us and turned her against us. We've waited enough and no we won't even wait for their signal, we would strike first." Adams said, boiling with rage.
"I'm with you Adams, it's high time we stopped thus madness." Max said.
"We start the preparations. The battle ritual would be held here in three days and after that, we set fire on the camp of the enemies. They attach from the back like cowards but we are going to destroy everything they have right in front of them, then we would being them to their end." Adams said leaving.
"Are you leaving already?" Alex asked him.
"I need to speak with the Mistress." Adams said and went out of sight.
"Okay, we meet again in three days everyone. Till then, prepare yourselves and stay alert. Bye." Alex said and left.
"My! Adams was not looking good." Thomas said.
"I hope we defeat them and most importantly, get Leah back." Diana said.
"We would." Max said and they left together.

In another building...
"You told any of them yet?" Rosa asked Leah.
"Yeah, I told my bestie, but she didn't believe me." Leah said, sad.
"I told you Leah, they wouldn't agree with you." Rosa told her, hiding her mockery.
"Hey guys, what's up!" Henry walked in.
"Where's Jake Henry? I thought you both were coming together." Rosa asked him as he approached her.
"Well we were, but his dad called so he left." Henry answered.
"I see." Rosa replied and faced Leah. "Tell me, exactly how do you know Jake?" She asked her.
"Well, it's been a while. Actually, he's my bestie's boyfriend." Leah replied.
"Her name?" Rosa asked, observing her closely.
"Alex." Leah answered her.
"Alex." Rosa repeated. "So not tell Jake about her being a witch too."
"But why?" Leah asked, surprised.
"No 'buts' Leah!" Rosa said, her voice raised. She sighed softly, "Look Leah, it's for our own good, Jake especially. We can't accommodate any distractions, really." Rosa tried to explain holding Leah's shoulders.
"Do you understand?" She asked her.
"Yes, yes i do." Leah replied.
"He doesn't have to know." Rosa said again, looking deeply into Leah's eyes.
"He doesn't have to know." Leah repeated like she was hypnotized.
"Alright everyone, we should leave now." Smith said and they all left the building that was their meeting place.
Alex got home that evening looking downcast and her mother got worried.
"What's wrong dear?" She asked as Alex came in through the door.
"It's nothing mom." Alex said as she went to her room. She got home really late and thirty minutes later her mom knocked on her door.
"Come in." She replied weakly.
Her mom stepped into the room. The lights were off and the windows were wide open, it was about to rain so the wind was a bit fierce. Alex sat on the bed with a lit candle only showing her face.
Her mom sat next to her. "Tell me dear." She said, placing a hand on her back.
Alex only sobbed and her mom hugged her for a while. She pulled back and later asked, "Are you fine now?"
Alex nodded, "Mom, Leah...Leah, she..." She started crying again.
"Aww, it's okey dear, it's okay." Her mom held her close and rubbed her back.
"Mom, Leah left us, for good. She met this girl at school who claimed to be a witch and she brainwashed Leah and told her lies." Alex said, telling her mom everything Leah told her.
"My! And Leah believed her?" Her mom asked surprised.
"I know right? How could she? She...she betrayed us mom, she did. She said we would face our doom if we don't hold back." Alex said, pained.
"It's okay dear, at least now you understand that not everybody is destined for good things."
"No mom, we all are. Some people just ignore the good on their lath and they chase after the had. Leah has made up her mind to fight against us 8 also, have made up my mind to fight whatever and whoever for my realm, I'm done caring! The battle has finally begun." Alex said, crossed and determined.
Her mom only looked at her with different thoughts running through her head.
