For the days that followed, Leah distanced herself from the rest of her group members, even Adams and Alex. They tried all they could but she either ignored them or embarrassed them.
Then, there was a new girl in school. Rosa came a month after Leah's quarrel with her friends. She first met Leah at the school's library where she was searching for a book and Leah, noticing that she had been standing in front of the bookshelf for a long time, came to her and helped her locate the book she was looking for. They started talking after that and became almost inseparable. Leah had started to trust Rosa so much she told her everything.
"Seriously? They ditched you just like that?" Rosa asked her when Leah had told her all about her magical secret and about how she left her group.
"They didn't get the chance, I ditched them and I have absolutely nothing to do with them anymore, they can fight their goddamn battle on their own." Leah said in reply.
"You know, after all you've said, I agree with you!" Rosa said.
"But Rosa, after all I've said, why aren't you even a little bit shocked, or scared, or anything at all? I mean, I literally just told you I'm a witch." Leah said confused.
Rosa laughed shortly then looked serious all of a sudden, "It takes a witch to know a witch Leah." She said expressionlessly.
Leah was quiet for a while then said. "So you are..." She didn't complete her statement out of shock.
"Yes, yes. I'm a witch like you, I knew you were a witch the first time we talked, I just felt it." Rosa said.
"But tell me, do you belong to the Side of Light 'cus..."
"Leah, you should know there is no such thing as the Side of Darkness. All witches are one, there was just a very little disagreement between the ancient witches and it led to a big conflict which splitted the union of the witches. There's neither light kor darkness in our realm Leah, we are all one body, together, but that ancient disagreement has splitted us apart."
"But that's not the story I've been told since I was young Rosa."
"I doesn't matter Leah, my parents also kept trying to turn me against my kind but as I grew the League from where I came from told us the truth which is what I've told you. If you still doubt me you can come with me and I'll prove it to you." Rosa said, with a half smile.
"Hmmm, alright. I'll come with you after school's over today." Leah said and left.
"That's it Leah, slowly but surely you are going to fall into my splendid trap and we would succeed in making you one of us. This way, light would surely lose, just like last time." Rosa said and laughed menacingly, she smiled mischievously and left.
That day, Leah followed Rosa to a lonely deserted area until they both entered an old abandoned building.
"What is this place?" She asked as they climbed up the stairs.
"Sshhh, just follow me." Rosa answered.
They kept walking, then Leah asked again, "Why exactly are we here? What do you intend doing here? How would you prove all you said to me? What..."
"Leah please keep quiet and be calm. We are here for a purpose and you would know when you need to. For now, quit pestering me with questions, got that?" Rosa said, sounding angry and rude.
"Yeah, right." Leah said, keeping quiet.
They finished with the ling flight of stairs and walked through a long hallway with cobwebs on the ceilings and walls until Rosa opened a door to a room on their right.
"Rosa's here." A voice sounded. It was a male's voice, deep, harsh, his name was Smith.
"Hey Smith, hey Henry, sup Jake." Rosa said to the three people in the room.
"We're good, how are you?" Henry replied. He was tall with blonde hair that had dark roots, piercing blue eyes like the sky's colour on a bright summer afternoon.
"I'm good." Rosa said back to him.
"The new girl?" Smith asked Rosa, referring to Leah.
"Yeah, Leah." Rosa answered as Smith moved towards Leah. He was big, huge, but was still in his late tens as the rest of them. He opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by the other guy who had been sitting on a chair facing the window and had not talked or turned to look at the 'new girl', on seeing her, he stood up.
"Jake!" Leah screamed in complete shock. Her eyes were wide and her mouth refused to close itself.
"Leah, why are you here?" Jake asked her. He was as shocked as she was but was doing a good job , covering it with a serious face.
"I should ask the same too." She replied.
"Wait wait, you two know each other?" Rosa asked. Everyone was surprised.
"Yes, I know herz she's a friend. Leah you never said you're a witch." Jake said.
"You neither." Leah replied him.
"Well that's enough, let's get to why we're here, Rosa?" Smith spoke. One would think he was always pissed with everything with the harsh tome of his voice.
"Right, Leah read this." Rosa said, taking a medium sized book and opening a page for Leah. "It talks more about what I told you earlier today, so do you believe me now?"
"Well, yeaahh...but this boon now labels the Side of Light as the oppressors whereas..."
"Leah, actually, the witch who formed the Side of Light was the one in the wrong. But adamantly she caused a division and some witches followed her while she labelled the group of those with the other witch who was right, the Side of Darkness which has never existed. Luckily, we've got you broken from the bond but your friends still in it are in danger, but don't bother telling them, they won't listen to you. We're the chosen ones to terminate the members of that bond and bring the witches together again. So tell me, are you with us or not?" Rosa asked Leah.
"Well, Rosa, these are all coming at once, can I please have some..."
"No Leah, there's no time, we're going to have to face them once and for all. And we can't afford defeat this time. So save yourself from the danger now and fight them with us." Rosa said, trying hard to convince Leah.
"But I, I was part of them, my boyfriend's part of them, they're gonna risk their lives unknowingly." Leah said.
"They're being ignorant so they'll have to pay. No worries, we won't kill them, we would only captivate them and interact and dialogue until they're converted. We need to start preparing, are you with us?" Rosa asked Leah again.
She looked at Jake who had a disapproving face then she remembered how her group members had disagreed with her and none of them chose to believe her, even the League Head. She said, "Yes, I would join you to defeat them, as fat as they would not be harmed, okay?"
"Okey-dokey. You should get going, it's getting late." Rosa said.
"You're right, goodbye Rosa. Bye Smith, and Henry, and Jake." She said leaving.
"Bye." Smith and Henry said in unison.
"Well that was even easier than I thought. She's such a fool, of course we're gonna kill her former friends, our realm isn't labeled Darkness for no reason. And Jake, why didn't you tell us that you knew her all along?" Rosa spoke after Leah left.
"Well I didn't know she was the one you all were talking about." Jake said. He looked back at the window and saw Leah open the gate and leave. She seemed to be smiling, she had no idea what she had gotten herself into but one thing was for sure, she would regret it."
