"Childish" theory

One thing I've learned from school
Made me realise things about myself
About my childhood
And how I was brought up
How it affected me
And how it still affects me

When a child is born
That child doesn't know
The concept of anything
Yet

From first born to
Early years of their childhood
Their eyes are filled with wonder
And Curiosity

A continuous lane of learning
That will go on
till death takes over

When you treat them
As if they aren't a person
As if they aren't people
Because they don't know any better
That child's mind
Will forever be tainted

Because of the
Cruel assumptions
"Adults" make of them

Parents who don't even
Put an effort into learning
How to nurture a child's mind
And blame their child
For being "incompetent"
Is their own doing

Their own actions taking into affect

Imagine being treated
As if you are not
Your own person
As an individual
Because you look and act "weaker"
Than them
Because you aren't "capable" yet

The "adults" might think
Their assumptions
And their unnecessary comments
Will stop affecting
A child's mind when they're older

Those words will be remembered
Many
Many
Years later

And it will continue to affect them
Like they did
The first time
Their parents said them

Words are powerful tools

But not just words
Your actions matter too
how you treat someone
Specially if it's a kin of your own

You have the responsibility
To make that child feel safe
Safe enough to open up to you
To ask for help
To tell you about their day
Because they know
You wont fake like you care

If you can't even do that
Then
you've already failed
