(POSSIBLY CANCELLED,,) Steven universe x reader || "Impossible"

Baby steps

Y/n walked along the beach and up the stairs. The human checked how they looked on their phone before going up to the door. It was quickly opened.

"Steven, Amethyst, and Garnet are out at the arcade today." Pearl told Y/n. She welcomed them inside. "We can make some of your F/f after we train for the day."

"Are you going to have some this time?" Y/n half-jokingly asked.

"Eugh.." Pearl thought about how humans ate.

Y/n mimicked Steven on the warp pad in an attempt to use it. They stretched out their hands and closed their eyes and really focused. Pearl chuckled a bit at their attempts but her eyes widened as she saw the warp start to activate.

"Oh- oh my goodness!" The slender gem exclaimed.

Y/n fell on their butt yet laughed regardless.

"I have only witnessed us uncorrupted gems and Steven use a warp pad! What does that make you..?" She asked quizzically.

"I have no idea... Pearl, if I beat you in this duel will you eat with me? I bet I can." Y/n boasted.

"As if! I've been training for a couple thousand years!" Pearl responded with a tinge of arrogance.

Y/n and Pearl got into their dueling stances; Pearl pulled her pearlescent spear from her gem, Y/n forming a luminescent longsword. They exchanged slashes when the white gem levitated upwards and her spear discharged blasts of energy at Y/n.

"Woah! Where'd you learn that?" Y/n gasped in awe while dodging.

Pearl smirked confidently and increased the frequency of her blasts. Y/n absorbed the blasts by slashing into them to Pearl's surprise. The human tensed and shot the energy back at her.

Pearl fell to the ground. Y/n approached her and helped her up.

"Thanks.." the tall gem said. "You're a lot more lithe than I expected."

"No way. You literally incorporate ballet into your fighting." Y/n bashfully replied; They tried to perform a triple pirouette to accentuate their point and fell halfway through. Pearl caught them.

"Haha, I don't know how you do it.." Y/n's face became rose-tinted as they looked up at Pearl who looked down at them with a teal flush on her. Briefly, Pearl's forehead gem glowed.

"Okay, okay... let me try again." Y/n got up. They attempted another pirouette but fell into Pearl's arms quickly, the human and gem laughing. Before they knew it, the two opened their eyes and were one.

"I- you aren't a gem!" The hybrid exclaimed. "How is this.. let's not, we should just bask in it." The Y/n half stated.

"...I'm glad you opened up to me." The Pearl half replied.

"I had no idea you feel that way about her, now that she's gone. I can't relate, but now I understand." Y/n comforted Pearl.

"As I didn't know that humans experienced such complex thoughts." She consoled.

"Fusion is.." Y/n finally realized that everyone was listening. "Oh! Hey Garnet, hey Steven, hey Amethyst."

"What were you guys doing all day?" Amethyst asked.

"Training, as per usual. Right Pearl?"

The tall gem was still fixated on Y/n. They quickly snapped back to reality. "O-oh! Yes, training as per usual." Y/n didn't seem to stop blushing either.

(A/n: this is probably the first real "x reader"-esque chapter and it was really fun!)
