"Pearl..? Why..?" Y/n's abilities dissipated.
"You repaired the tower so that you can fuse with Garnet? Did you even plan to stop?" They asked.
"...It's.. it's so much fun being Sardonyx. I can't even begin to explain it... we should fuse to repair the hub." Pearl suggested, planting her hand in Y/n's and having their fingers interlock.
"W- no way! I'm telling Garnet, do you have any idea how Amethyst feels?" The human asked with impatience.
"Okay, okay... one more time as Sardonyx, and then I will stop rebuilding the hub." Pearl bargained.
"You don't even care how she feels, get your hands off of me..!" Y/n pulled away but was met with resistance.
"Y/n, please... I promise that nobody will not find out. I know you want to fuse, too. It's been months." The ivory gem pleaded. Y/n looked at her with mixed emotions.
"I'll help you.." Y/n offered a slightly shaky hand to Pearl. She took their hand and began to dance with them, the two fusing.
Snow Agate drew her weapon and had it emit a steady beam which would act as a tractor beam. Pearl also shared her experience as Sardonyx with Y/n.
"Impressive, no?" The Pearl-half asked.
"Y-yeah.." The Y/n pair of eyes started blinking rapidly. They both felt happiness with a warm embrace. Y/n was a lot more joyful since they hadn't fused in so long. Right before the last pillar was put into place the fusion began to hallucinate.
"No! What..? Why are you back?" The fusion asked. "What? Why are you seeing Jasper..?"
The two quickly unfused. Pearl was upright and Y/n's was sitting down with their knees up to their chest.
"Y/n? What's wrong?" Pearl asked, crouching down to be on Y/n's level.
"You reminded me of her. I... I was so tired, I actually was considering fusing with her. When all of you showed that you didn't care about me or Lapis... was I right? Do you only care about fusion and Rose Quartz? Not even the feelings of another crystal gem?" Y/n said. Pearl was idle in shock.
"For someone I love... you can be really awful." Y/n commented. "Amethyst is really hurt... I'm really hurt... at least you're trying to help me."
The two got up and walked back to where lion was.

Y/n was on the couch, still a little rattled. Pearl brought them some tea, though. Steven turned on the TV which revealed static. Pearl made an obviously fake gasp.
"Oh, this is no good."
"What's wrong?" Steven responded.
"It's Peridot. She must've fixed the Communication Hub again!" Pearl exclaimed, with Garnet walking in. "Garnet, it's the Hub again."
"She's evading my future vision. No matter how many times I try, I can't see us finding Peridot." Garnet smacked her lips. "Come on, team."

"I can't believe Peridot is giving us so much trouble! But it hardly matters, right Garnet? We can disable this tower as many times as we need to, together!" The slender gem commented.
"I know what she's doing." Amethyst whispered to Steven.
"You do?" Steven asked.
"Wait..."
Garnet and Pearl proceeded to dance together. Amethyst interrupted.
"Stop!" She yelled.
"I-Is something the matter, Amethyst?" Pearl asked.
"Oh no.." Y/n sighed to themselves. They looked away, starting to get teary-eyed.
"You-you shouldn't..." The purple gem continued.
"Pearl... Y/n." Steven looked away. "We caught you both on video.."
"What?" Pearl pretended to be confused.
"You need to tell Garnet it was you two... fused!" Steven exclaimed.
"I don't understand." Garnet stated.
"I'm sorry... I-It's just... so much fun being Sardonyx with you." Pearl apologized. Garnet dropped her.
"That's why I couldn't see us finding Peridot." Garnet realized.
"Wait! Let me explain!" Pearl said, briefly looking at Y/n.
"You've been fixing the hub!" Garnet approached Pearl who backed away.
"It really was Peridot! T-The first time..." The white gem tried to explain.
"You tricked me!" Garnet exclaimed.
"No! No, no, no, no! We just needed a reason to fuse! I just wanted to share a few more victories with you!"
"Those weren't victories!" Garnet corrected angrily.
"Wait... Garnet... it was me, I got her to do this, I'll take responsibility." Y/n lied, trying to defend Pearl. "We're all weak, fusing with you makes us feel strong."
"You don't even gain anything from this! It's obvious that it's Pearl who made you fuse with her." The angry gem deduced with logic.
"..." Y/n had nothing to respond with.
"Garnet.." Pearl said.
"THAT'S ENOUGH! Amethyst, fuse with me!" Garnet yelled.
"But-!" Amethyst tried to reply.
"Let's just get this over with." Garnet clenched her fist. Her and Amethyst came together to become Sugilite. Despite seeing a new, cool fusion, Y/n was thinking about other things. Sugilite winded up her fists and made the hub crash down.
"Why is everyone so hateful towards each other?" Y/n thought, sitting down and wiping their face.
