Interlude

(A/n: An amethyst chapter!)

"Dude!"

"N/n, wake up!"

"I'll start... licking you!" The voice laughed.

Y/n soon felt something quick peck their cheek... definitely Amethyst's lips. Y/n shot out of bed. "Aw- did you just kiss me?? That's intimate, dude!"

"Intimate like you and Pearl?" She deadpanned.

"I- uh- that's different!" Their cheeks turned beet red; Amethyst fell off the bed from laughing so much.

"What do intimate people do, anyway?" The violet gem got up.

"Go on dates, go shopping, run errands with each other, cuddle, watch movies, cuddle while watching movies, sleeping, cuddling while sleeping, stealing articles of clothing, sleeping with each other, sleeping with each other..." Y/n listed. "I don't do any of that with Pearl."

"-I like all of those things. Especially eating. C'mon N/n, let's be intimateee~" Amethyst cooed.

"Sure... let me get dressed and take a shower, though."

Y/n and Amethyst walked down the boardwalk.

"What do you wanna do first?" Y/n asked

"Let's get snacks and binge something."

"You're the boss, Amy."

The two walked in to a gas station. The doors slid open and a chime played. "Welcome to 12/6." An employee at the front desk distractedly muttered.

"You can go pick the snacks... whatever you want, and don't skimp on anything."

"Alright, N/n."

Y/n went to get a giant bottle of soda from a freezer. When they came back to the register Amethyst was carrying at least thirty snacks.

All of the snacks were placed on a coffee table in Y/n's room. The two were next to each other, bundled up in blankets. Y/n placed a bowl filled with chaaaaps in front of them along with the remote. "I'm still kinda cold." They said as an excuse to put their head on Amethyst's shoulder.

"This show kinda reminds me of me," Y/n suddenly said. "This main person is reincarnated in a new world with magic people."

"Yeah. Kind of like you." Amethyst agreed. It started to get dark after four episodes, Y/n started to lay down more and eventually they fell asleep.

"Y/n! Dude!"

"What? I'm up.." They rubbed their eyes as they saw Steven and the gems in their room.

"What the? What is it?" Y/n asked, concerned about why they were there.

"We received a message. Lapis Lazuli told us that homeworld has sent someone after us. Her exact words were "don't put up a fight"." Pearl explained.

"As if... those homeworld lackies aren't gonna know what hit them!" Y/n boldly exclaimed.

"W-well... we thought it would be best if you took shelter elsewhere." Pearl cut in.

"...So you don't trust me as a crystal gem after the "Peridot" incident?" Y/n asked.

"No, no! It's just... we don't want you to get-"

"No, I get it. I'm a human, I can't go on serious missions." Y/n interjected. "You need me, though. I'll be ready when the time comes."

"...Why are you and Amethyst resting while being close to each other?" Pearl asked.
