"I can't sleep."
"Of course you can't. Steven has your favorite pillow."
"Ughh... I'll go and get it."
Y/n got out of bed and stretched. ...Then they flew out of the window and into the night sky.
"Not so fast." Peridot grabbed them by the leg and discharged an energy blast at Y/n's head point-blank. The human was knocked out.
"Ugh... humans weigh so much even though they're so weak." The nasally green gem complained.

Steven shook Y/n awake at the galaxy warp.
"W... what??" Y/n looked around sheepishly.
"FIX this warp pad! One of you has to— I have no Flask Robonoids, I've got no foot, I've got no response from Yellow Diamond. Whatever you did to the Lazuli you've got to do it to the Homeworld Warp! Or else!" She charged her energy blaster menacingly.
Y/n picked Steven up and put him in front of themselves. "Erm.. Steven can try first."
"Y/n!" Steven briefly objected. "...o-okay, just give me a second! My mouth gets really dry when I'm scared." The gem hybrid then licked his hand and slapped it on the warp pad; Peridot looked really confused and Y/n almost laughed.
"You! Try something!" Peridot aimed at Y/n who quickly ushered themselves forward. The human clasped their hands together and began glowing a pale white. Their hands were now on the warp pad which glowed white and... shattered.
"WHAT DID YOU DO???" Peridot barked.
"I DON'T KNOW? MAYBE DON'T ASK RANDOMS TO FIX YOUR STUFF!" The human argued back. The two were utterly unaware of the crystal gems warping there.
"There they are!" Pearl pointed at the three.
"Uuuuuugh!!" Peridot ran away.
"Oh you little-" Y/n manifested light wings and gave chase.
"PERIDOT!" Garnet boomed.
"Ahh, you're okay!" Amethyst said to Steven.
"What happened?!" Pearl hugged Steven.
"Why can't you clods just leave me alone?!"
"Gems! Move!" Garnet's gauntlets appeared, and she started following Y/n and Peridot.
Peridot's fingers from one hand came to the other hand and became a much deadlier-looking blaster.
"Get away!!" Peridot's blaster hand pulsed a laser which the green gem waved around erratically. Then she tried using her helicopter fingers to escape.
Amethyst used her whip to grab the green gem's feet, which Peridot countered by sending electricity down the whip.
"Noooo... not again."
"Not this time!" Garnet gripped the whip with her gauntlet to nullify the electricity.
"This was a really bad plan!" Y/n remarked, running up the whip like a tightrope and tackling Peridot into the ground. Y/n got off of her and dusted their shoulders,
"Y'all can do the honors," They said, backing up from Peridot. "I'm glad this can finally come to an end."
"Wait, wait.. you- you need me!!" Peridot scrambled back. "I'm the only one who knows about the-" Peridot was poofed by the fusion.
"The heck are these??" Y/n looked at Peridot's limb enhancers. The second they put one on, 5 fingers circled around Y/n's body and then around the green glove.
"That would be an amazing cosplay accessory."
"I know, right?"
"Can I have the other-" Y/n saw Amethyst dumping the other limb enhancers in the ocean.
"..Uhh whoops." She smiled.
"Garnet... she was trying to tell us something." Steven looked concerned.
"Those were just the desperate lies of a Gem who's been caught. You don't need to worry about her anymore." Garnet started walking off. Y/n looked slightly uneasy with the idea that Peridot had something important to say.
"Oh, I'm so glad that this is all over." The tall gem pushed Steven along with her.
"Dude, why are you so worried?" Amethyst turned to me.
"She's really incessant on leaving this place, and she knows something we don't." Y/n explained. "No alarms going off in your head?"
"Nah." She nonchalantly started walking. The human audibly sighed before following her.

Y/n left Steven's house with their lucky pillow and looked out to the beach right in front of them.
"Psst! Y/n, come on!" Steven stopped them before they could leave.
"What's up, schtu-ball?" Y/n asked.
"It's Peridot! She had something to say to us."
"..I guess I also thought about that, too. What's your plan?"
"We should go and ask her."
"I'm with you until the end of the line." Y/n put their hand on Steven's hair and ruffled it. The two walked to his mother's room.
"Room, I need to talk to Peridot." Steven commanded. Clouds meshed together and became Peridot and started speaking.
"I'm the only one who knows ABOUT THE-" It froze.
"D'aww, it was good to be true."
"What if we go to where she actually is?" Y/n suggested boldly.
"Hmm... okay, room, I need to go to the basement. The real basement! I know there's a way down from here!" Clouds in front of the two parted as a way down into the burning room.
"..What do we do??" Y/n asked in exasperation.
The kid hopped onto a vein of the Crystal Heart. "We slide down." He said. Y/n had to think for a minute before sliding down with him.
