(A/n: This is the most recent part to Impossible as of 2/24/23, but it takes place before Mirror Gem for consistency.)
"It's your first day, you don't want to be late!" M/n yelled from downstairs. "Oof... I have 2 minutes left, 4 if I'm lucky." Y/n told Rose as they began to sit down with her.
"Okay, okay," Rose playfully said. "What do you wish to know?"
Y/n began to think hard yet hastily about their next words; "What do I find... romantically, and metaphorically on my journey?"
"Hm. For the first part of your question... I'll say that you are no longer alone. Unfortunately, that is where my knowledge ends." Rose explained before suddenly getting up, presumably with an idea. "I think Steven should be here for this next part."
Y/n looked quizzically at Rose as Steven appeared. "Y/n!" He exclaimed in his usual happy tone. Rose laughed and pulled Steven into a quick hug that made Y/n smile.
"Do you know how to dance?" Rose asked, Y/n shook their head, uncertain of why she asked.
"You need to know how to fuse." She explained. "You aren't a gem, but with your unique situation, you aren't human. It makes you different but similar."
"I'm a human and gem... kind of like you!" Steven chuckled while making the comparison.
Rose approached Y/n and put their hand out. They accepted her hand and they started to dance together. Rose twirled Y/n around and her gem started to glow. As Y/n finished the twirl, her and Y/n glowed before becoming one..

Y/n pulled the covers off of themselves and got ready for school.

As they entered the school building and then the main office to get their schedule, they thought some very negative things. "No, it'll be better this time... right?"
"Y/n?" They had to quickly snap back to reality as one of the office ladies handed them a folded piece of paper containing Y/n's schedule. "Thank you." They responded and took their schedule.
Y/n walked down a liminal hallway and entered a classroom. They sat down and heard whispers. "It's definitely about me... but why do I care?" Y/n told themself.

Y/n got their lunch tray and scanned the cafeteria at light-speed, they instantly knew of the cliques and groups by the seating. They saw a familiar face sitting alone and so Y/n joined them.
"Hey Y/n!" The blonde donut-shop employee said while they picked at 'chicken' nuggets.
"Hey Sadie." Y/n replied.
They started to talk about the abundance of schoolwork and the stresses they felt. It was relieving to have someone to relate to.
"Do you have Mr. Lee?" She asked.
"Yeah! He's really tough. I hate all of his quizzes." They groaned as they remembered how their first quiz went.

"Hey mom." Y/n forced a smile.
"Yo, Y/n." Y/n's mom hugged them— except their mom was lilac colored. Y/n quickly retracted from the hug and gave Amethyst a look. She snickered before transforming back to her original self.
"We can hang out right after I finish my homework." Y/n said. "...If that was why you're here." Amethyst nodded as she sat down on Y/n's couch. Y/n handed her the remote and then they got started on their homework.

"Amethyst, I'm ready to-" Y/n looked down at the purple gem who was asleep, sprawled out on the couch. "O-oh... I guess I took too long." They thought. Y/n pressed a switch on the side of the couch which made it recline. The human retrieved a neatly folded periwinkle comforter and sat down on the couch, whisking the blanket on to them both.
"Rose?" Y/n said, reappearing in their headspace. They sat down with Rose once they saw her concerned expression.
"Y/n." Rose said in a serious manner. "You were doing homework all day. You didn't even take a break to eat." She lectured them.
"That's nothing, I've done worse. Besides, people expect a lot out of me... I expect a lot from myself." Y/n explained. "But you need to take care of yourself!" Rose shot back.
"I don't even know why you care so much. It's just an... insignificant human problem." Y/n said under their breath. Rose cupped one of Y/n's cheeks in her hand. "You truly believe that..?" Rose asked. Y/n looked at her, and she already knew their story from their expression.
"I-I'll take a break in a week—, once summer begins.." They mumbled.
