Impossible- adj. not able to occur, exist, or be done.
Y/n hasn't ever been far from home, however, they move to Beach City.
Nice place, good people, but Y/n has a fateful encounter with a certain someone which cements their fate as a guardian. Wil...
(A/n: I had fun with this one lol, also split into 2 parts)
Y/n, in Steven's house, was drinking coffee on the couch and waiting for him to come out of the bathroom. Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst were on the side of the bathroom.
"Open the door, Peridot! If this "Cluster" is putting us in danger, you need to tell us what it is so we can stop it." Garnet angrily knocked on the bathroom door.
"I say we break down the door." Y/n took a sip of their drink.
"NO! I hate you. I'm not telling you anything about the Cluster!" A muffled voice yelled from inside the bathroom.
"Oh, come on! Is it like a big... hunk of... granola?" Amethyst asked. Y/n looked at her with confusion. "Huh. You really like food." They mumbled.
"What's granola?" Peridot asked.
"Well according to googl-" Y/n started, Pearl interrupted them. "-I'm sure it's not granola. Now Peridot, I'm sure we can reach some sort of agreement. Perhaps a trade is in order?"
"Oh, sure, why don't you just give me back my leg enhancements and my arm attachments with my screen and my log and all my information! Oh wait, YOU DESTROYED THEM! SO NO, I DON'T THINK WE CAN REACH SOME SORT OF AGREEMENT!!" Peridot yelled, even through the walls Y/n heard her crystal clearly.
The human took a sip of coffee before speaking. "FOR THE RECORD, I HAVE ONE OF THOSE THINGS. NO YOU AREN'T GETTING IT BACK."
"UBERCLOD!"
"HALFLING!"
The gems groaned at the arguing between the two. Soon, a toilet flushed and Steven came out. "Sorry for, interrupting your interrogation." He said.
"Don't worry about it, Steven." Said Garnet.
"I swear, Peridot is gonna crack any second now!" Pearl added.
The small dorito declared from inside.
"The next time I hear 'clod' out of her mouth there will be an issue." Y/n grumbled. "Oh, hey Steven."
"Hi!" He responded.
"Hold on Pearl. If she's not going to be of any help, let's investigate this thing on our own. Y/n, come on." Garnet instructed.
"You've gotta be dababy convertible if you think I'm leaving the comfort of this couch." The human joked, yawning.
Amethyst:

"I'm still not coming." Y/n giggled a bit. "I'll come with you, then!" Steven eagerly exclaimed. "The more the merrier." Garnet monotonically said.
"Y/n, will you be okay on your own?" Pearl asked, looking a bit concerned.
"Why? Are ya worried about lil' old me??" Y/n cooed. Pearl immediately became teal in the face. "I was... I'm just, you know..." she tried to explain.
"It's okay, everyone knows we're like this." Y/n raised their arm and crossed their fingers with an evil smirk. Amethyst was dying laughing, Garnet had a slight smile, Steven was unaware why Pearl became a flustered mess and looked away. "Unless you wanted to be... more? If so I wouldn't mind~"
The four walked onto the warp pad. "Oh! N/n, there's one more thing I have to mention. We love you." Garnet made a heart with her hands.
"ESPECIALLY P-" Amethyst tried to say, fortunately, they warped before she could finish. After a couple minutes without coffee Y/n was back to their usual self. "Good heavens, what was that?"
—----------------
"Peri! It's been like half an hour, get out of the bathroom!" Y/n called out, playing a whole game of volleyball using light clones and one of Steven's beach balls. "No! I-I like it in here!" She got defensive.
"Jeez, I guess I'm not walking home, then." Y/n looked out, seeing the rain and thunder. Peridot ran out as soon as a set began, the green gem being sniped by the ball and hitting a wall.
"Ow- it's happening, the cluster!" She ran over to Y/n.
"Wait, for real?" They asked. "How do you know??"
"What else could be making that horrible-" thunder struck in the middle of her sentence. "AHHHHH!!" The small gem clung to Y/n. "It's pounding on the Earth from the inside! This is it, this is THE END of the world!"
"Do you know anything without those limb enhancers??" Y/n looked down at her.
"..No." She responded.
"..I'll explain it in stupid person terms. Earth gets hot sometimes, hot make water on earth turn to gas and rise into sky, sky pours water on earth, earth water flow downward. Cycle continues."
"..is the water that's poured on the earth hot?" Peridot questioned.
"..just come with me." Y/n grabbed her hand, taking her outside into the pouring rain. Peridot began laughing when she stopped being scared of the rain and Y/n started to laugh with her.
—----------------
Peridot paced around the house while Y/n was carefully brewing more coffee. "That was fun, no?"
"Please, call me N/n." Y/n smiled from the counters.
"N/n?"
"Yes?"
Peridot took a deep breath. "Thank you."
"For?"
"For explaining this "rain" business to me."
"No problem... if you wanted a convoluted plan to get us holding hands you could just ask." Y/n muttered, slightly yawning. Peridot definitely heard, though, and the human could tell she stopped pacing.
"A-anyway, you're much more intelligent of a creature than I initially thought." She moved on.
"You thought I was dumb??" Y/n deadpanned, thinking a bit more about themselves and then shrugging. "Fair."
"Yes, but you're much more useful than those... clods. N/n! I've made up my mind. I've decided to share some... information with you!" She declared.
"Mhm?" They turned around with another cup of coffee in their hands.
"I-it's about the Cluster." She got Y/n to smile since she was opening up to them. "So are we waiting for the gems to come so we can fill them in too?" They asked, taking a small sip from their mug.
"No! I don't want to talk to them!" Peridot exclaimed. "I can show you now, but I have nothing! My arm attachments, my fingers, my screen, my log, it's all gone! But all of my logs up to date 6-5-2 still exist, backed up in Facet Five of the Prime Kindergarten!"
Y/n looked at Peridot for a little while before speaking. "This seems like a trap... but I love traps."
