Ahem Ahem, if I may have your attention, I'm trying to tell a story here! I demand your attention and silence!

Rocky-dono, what are you on about???

Bitch did I not just say I wanted your silence?

...

Finally.

Now, we're gonna go back, back to the ancient gem war, off in a far-away place.

On this day, approximately 40 years after the Crystal Gems had initiated their countless raids with the goal of a rebellion, they had unknowingly spoken to a powerful force.

An orange diamond? How strange.

Orange? This raises so many questions!

Yeah. Hold those.

Ahem ahem, ...a beautiful, bloody-red diamond. This woman was gifted physically, her willpower was unshaken, and her fiery aura birthed an overpowering desire for victory in those she could spread her light upon.

She had been sitting on her throne, filled to the brim with numbing boredom. Her pearl had other matters to attend to, so she had nothing, nobody to entertain her.

The human colonies, few and far between, held no physical contest to her.

As if it were all the answers to the pleas of the Orange Diamond, a voice came on the diamond line. A pink gem, pretty plump, along with a pearl, as well as a myriad of ruby footsoldiers.

"This is Rose Quartz, we are the CRYSTAL GEMS, and this base is ours!"

The chaotic gem's words reverberated through the Diamond's ears. Despite the fact she should've been FURIOUS, she had but one question that accounted for all scenarios.

"Is this a rebellion?"

The pearl took the stage, declaring with a cheeky, shit-eating grin, "This IS a rebellion, and you will-."

She quakes with curiosity and fickle hope in her eyes. "We will battle in THREE MOON CYCLES! Only then will I determine if I join you GEM TRAITORS."

How come we haven't heard anything of this Orange Diamond?

In-universe reason? She had been shattered, and her existence erased. Plus, she resided in a different galaxy.

Ahem, ahem.

After a couple of moments that were infected with silence from both parties, the Orange Diamond spoke once more, "The last part is a joke. You Crystal Gems don't joke?"

With that, the other diamonds caught wind of the transmission and cut it off. This didn't worry her one bit, however. The date would come no matter what happened.

. . .

Before she left, Orange Pearl groveled at her knees for her diamond not to betray the Diamonds, and not to leave her. Soon, however, a pink scythe would...

The date had come, and the time and the diamond descended onto the battlefield. The instant that she saw somebody that she recognized as a member of the Crystal Gems, the battle-hungry monster followed the gem until she was DIRECTLY met by the trio.

The Orange Diamond's face lit up as she chased down the rebels. "̸̞͊̒R̵̗͌́O̶͖̓̋S̵̝̒É̷̻̤ ̴͚̽Q̵̼͍̿U̴̙͕̔Ȁ̴̝R̸̼̓̅T̴̝̯͒Z̵͔̓̀!̸̡̰̍͌"̵̙̑͛ She yelled with excitement... why? She didn't know that name. Unlike the other diamonds, Orange happened to be born much. MUCH later. She was assumed to be defective, but she would prove them all wrong.

She materialized an orange staff with fiery yellow accents. It was blessed with the diamond's fiery aura.

All of the gems were caught off-guard, staring in shock. Garnet, the cotton candy woman, had a premonition and she tried to step in to intervene.

POOF!

Without a second thought, Orange Diamond drilled right through the fusion, splitting her and proofing both Ruby and Sapphire.

"Garnet!" Called out one of the irrelevant ones.

The rampaging brute continued, leaping into the air while Pearl rushed to defend the one she loved most.

. . .

The battle lasted a long time. Neither party would be willing to give up, but Orange kept poofing gems left and right. Despite the fact she could've shattered every one with her staff, i̸̭̖̓ť̷͙̌ ̶̙̮̆̿w̷̦̲͋̆a̶̙̓̈s̷̰͈̎̈́n̷̛͕̋'̶̙͎̇͗t̸̙̔̕ ̴̟͋ǐ̴̜n̷̩̼͝ ̴͎̔̈́ĥ̴̢̻͑ẽ̶̖ŕ̷̞̺̚ ̶̖̌̓n̶͓͋̎ͅa̸̹͂t̴̥̅́u̷̙͔͐̊r̸͉̥̊̆ē̵̲͎̆.̵̧̢̇̈́ Her PURPOSE was to destroy any rebels.

As she came in for the finishing blow, spinning the staff around to build up momentum.

"This is it!" Bellows the orange beast, not missing a beat as she rushes into the air.

Rose Quartz was exhausted. If there was one thing Orange did the best, it was combat, even against battleships or enhanced gems— even prisms— there was no stopping her.

The first couple of attacks hit her but seemed to do nothing. Her skin was too refined after a couple of slashes to be cut any further. She deflected any further slashing attacks, and her staff carried more than enough force to penetrate Rose's shield.

Pearl had snuck up and blocked Orange's slam with her spear, even if briefly. The force of the attack created a small crater, and Orange finally chuckled,

. . .

"Jolly good fight! I wish to join you rebels." She declared.

She had been rejuvenated by her Pearl, unbeknownst to anyone. Without her knowledge, the Crystal Gems wouldn't have as much of an edge, even with the help of Orange Diamond.

And thousands of years later, as the corruption would inflict the gems on earth, as Lapis Lazuli would remain in a mirror, as all of Rose's friends would be shielded, as she with the rainbow gem would remain bubbled, the blood-orange shards of a diamond were fixed to a Prism as an "experiment."

What???

What do you mean what, it's a story. You bear a prism, right?
