Y/n, Steven, and Connie all sat down in his room watching TV.
"Ughh, this show is so good!" Connie kicked her feet up. "Thank you so much for letting me watch 'under the knife' here."
"Meh. It's kind of weird."
"How come you can't watch this show at home?" Steven asked.
"My mom says this doesn't represent a real emergency room." She replied. "She just doesn't understand that it's satire."
Connie's phone started to ring.
"It's probably my mom." She opened it and found that she was right. She had to put on a front on the phone, it was almost synthetic compared to her real personality. Y/n had to walk off to avoid laughing at how fake it was.
"She talks so properly... I wonder how it is at home for her." Y/n thought to themselves.
"Oh... their parents?" Connie said, Y/n knowing she was referring to them and Steven. "They're, uh— they're in the other room. Steven's parents are. ...You would like to talk to Steven's mom? Okay."
"That's gonna be pretty hard since my mom gave up her physical form to make me." Steven said.
"I can't tell her that."
The two kids rushed downstairs and gave Garnet the phone. She panicked and told Connie's mom that they were playing with swords and died. Y/n found this matter hilarious.

Steven was baking a cake and Y/n opened the door with a bunch of groceries. They approached the fridge and started unloading things into it.
"What do you mean your mom won't let you come over? It's the mid-season pre-finale of Under the Knife!"
"Mid...season pre-finale? That is, like, the wrong order that those words need to take place in." Y/n concluded.
"Steven, my parents are really upset. They say they will not let me see you again until they meet both of your parents in person."
"But that's impossible!" Steven exclaimed, finishing the icing on his cake.
"I know, but they want both of our families to go out together for dinner."
"It sounds so... adult. I wonder if fish stew pizza will take reservations for... all eight of us."
"Steven, could you make that eleven? It would be a good time for my parents to meet your parents." Y/n asked.
"Eleven of us!" Steven cheered.
"You can't bring everybody!"
"Why not?" He asked.
"Yeah, why not?"
"Because— because... I told your parents you have a nuclear family."
"Nuclear?! Sure, they make stuff blow up sometimes, but that's because they're magic, not radioactive!"
"Nuclear means two parents and their child or children in this instance.." Y/n corrected, they took a seat next to him. "Her mom and dad think you live with your mom and dad."
"That's not true... did you even tell them about the crystal gems?" Steven asked.
"We were— are supposed to tell them?"
"What Y/n said."
"If they find out I lied to them, they'll never let me hang out with you again."
"And, like, the whole fighting monsters thing is really zany." Y/n added.
