"Sorry." She responded, very monotone.
"SQUARE PIZZA?! What's wrong with this crazy state?!" Steven exclaimed, I agreed.
"There will come a time in your life when you guys learn to accept all pizza." Greg told, probably not serious.
Me and Steven took a piece anyway. "Sapphire and Ruby should just make up." I said, taking a bite of the abomination of a pizza.
"Sometimes people that love each other can hurt each other's feelings without meaning to. We should just give them some space." Greg explained, I guess I agree.
"But I think they'd work it out if they'd just talk to each other!" Said Steven.
"Everything will be better in the morning. We'll all go to The Best Diner in the World, where we'll eat the best breakfast in the world!" Greg explained.
"Is it literally named the Best Diner in the World?" I asked, since it was really bugging me. Greg just chuckled nervously.
"You think that'll help?" Steven asked.
"Nothing like a diner to cure a hangov- I mean bring people together." I corrected myself. Greg chuckled at it, but Steven looked confused.
"You really are my favorite dad." Steven said.
"I knew this pizza would put me over the top!" Greg joked.
—----------------
Me, Greg, Steven, and those two sat down at the diner, with a waitress bringing menus. Me, Sapphire, and Ruby sat down together, me being on the inside, Greg and Steven sat together on the opposite side.
"Thanks." I told her, taking my plate/bowl of F/f. Maybe it was coincidental, but it was kind of chilly sitting next to Sapphire.
"What's the matter? Not hungry?" Greg asked Ruby, she looked up at him.
"Gems don't need to eat." I explained, taking a bite of my food.
"Eh... Well Garnet likes to eat sometimes." Greg said.
"ARGH! Well Garnet's not here!" Ruby yelled. She crossed her arms and started wiggling her foot impatiently. I could tell that Steven and Greg were nervous when they ate.
"Mm. This food is good, it really melts in your mouth." I said in an effort to change the subject. However, Ruby started shaking the table. Once again, why can't anything go right?
"You're shaking the table." Sapphire told her. Ruby banged the table and kept shaking it. "Hah, I'M kinda surprised you felt anything at all, to be honest!" She exclaimed.
Please... can those two not do this at a diner?? "I didn't need to feel, I saw." Sapphire shot back.
"So, uh, Steven... how's... Connie?" I asked. Maybe a good ol' conversation would work?
"You saw her three days ago.." Steven pointed out awkwardly. Conversation is overrated anyway.
"EVERYTHING IS JUST SO... CRYSTAL - CLEAR - TO - YOU - ISN'T IT?!?!" Ruby yelled even louder, shaking the table even more, enough to make Greg and Steven lift their plates up.
"This will pass. She'll eventually just burn herself out." The blue gem leaned over to us and said. I really hope she's right.
"THAT'S WHAT YOU THINK!" Ruby snapped. "I AM AN ETERNAL FLAME, BABY!!" ..and then she smashed the flipping table, my food went all on the ground..
I could feel the tears starting to form, so I excused myself from the table. By excusing myself, I mean getting up and leaving. "N/n!" Steven called out, but I walked out of the diner and sat down in a grass field.
"Y/n!" I heard this time from three people. Turning around, I saw it was Ruby, Sapphire, and Steven. All three looked really concerned.
"Wherever I am... nothing good happens? Is it because of me? Am I a bad person...? Do I deserve this?" I asked through intermittent sobs. Before long, I felt two people give me a hug that lasted for a little while.
"Well, I paid for breakfast... And the damage to the booth... Anywho, I think I'm all vacationed out. Ready to call it a day?" Greg came out of the diner and asked.
"Not before we get our free ice." Garnet appeared.

Greg dropped me in front of my house and Steven and Garnet waved at me. I have to say... pretty good road trip.
