- AURELIA JONES -
The next couple weeks actually went quite smoothly.
I'd been taunted and teased by Joni and Layla constantly.
They were like the mean girls in high school, except this is literally the real world and there's still mean girls.
I was too afraid to leave my room in case they cornered me in the bathrooms again.
I hadn't told Jace about any of this. Mainly because I don't want him to fuss over me.
And, from what I've heard, apparently Jace and Joni used to be quite serious.
Hm.
Interesting.
I had just come back from training, untying the laces on my shoes.
"Well done today." Rez complimented. I thanked him whilst guzzling some water.
"You coming to dinner?" He asked. I shook my head, "Not hungry."
I had made up an excuse the last few nights as to why I'm skipping dinner.
Oh I don't feel well...
I'm too tired...
Little white lies.
I'm trying to figure out my own brain before I face a bunch of people from my past.
"Can you at least come and hang out? Me and Ollie miss you." He nudged my shoulder.
"I'll think about it."
"What're you gonna do anyway? Go to the mall?"
I rolled my eyes, "Idiot."
I headed back to my room, pulling my shirt over my head so I was just left in my bra and shorts.
"Okay Aurelia we need- woah, s-shit, I'm sorry. Fuck!" Jace swore.
I jumped to feet, scrambling to find a shirt whilst Jace darted away and covered his eyes.
"Okay- Jesus." I mumbled, "I'm- decent."
Talk about an awkward start.
Did I mention I haven't spoken to him since our last encounter in the infirmary?
Well, we've had little interactions here and there, but the longest conversation we had was when he asked if I was 'coming to dinner.'
I'm which I said no, and then left.
He peeled his eyes open, "I'm sorry! I should've knocked."
I shrugged, "What's up?"
"Okay- listen. I know it's only been a few weeks and I might be- absolutely fucking crazy for even saying this out loud but-"
"I haven't stopped thinking about you since you came back."
I froze.
