- AURELIA JONES -
Somebody did in fact come to check on me after twenty minutes.
And once I confirmed with them that I was okay, they left.
"I don't care if they don't believe me. I'm not proving anything else to them." I told Jace.
He had come in my room, and before he could even say 'hi' I was already talking to him.
"I don't- feel comfortable. I don't- no. I'm sorry but no. Kick me out if you have too."
Jace sighed. He had his arms crossed, but his head was hung low.
"No one's kicking you out. And if they ever try, they'll have to go through me first."
He walked closer to me slowly. And I let him. It felt good.
"I'm sorry. You can go to the infirmary and confirm with Angel and Ariel, if you want."
I nodded, "Yeah, I'll do that. That way everyone's happy and I don't get shunned for not turning into an infected."
I sat down on my bed, leaning my head into my hands.
I heard Jace start to move, his heavy footsteps against the floor, until the bed sunk a little as his weight was fluctuating with me.
"I would never let that happen. I'm just sorry I didn't get to you sooner."
I shrugged, "Nothing you could've done anyway." I remembered back to a few hours ago, "It was inside the greenhouse."
He turned to look at me, "What do you think happened?" He asked with such mystery, I wonder if he knows something.
I looked off into the distance, "Could be a number of reasons. There's a hole in the fence or, someone got infected from the outside or vice versa. Why do you ask?"
It was his turn to shrug, "Just wanted to see where your heads at, that's all." He smiled, "I'm making an announcement after dinner."
He got up to leave, but I found myself wanting him to stay, "Hey Jace."
"Yeah?" He hummed, "Are you and Joni- like a thing?" My mouth was too fast for my brain.
I can't believe I just said that.
He looked at the floor, "No, uh not anymore. Why?"
"No reason. Just wanted to see where your heads at." I winked.
The room fell silent. So silent, I was afraid he'd be able to hear how fast my heart is beating.
Jace walked back over to me and held out his hand, "Lets get you to medical so the girls can do this exam huh?"
Instead of grabbing his hand, I looped my arm through his.

After the check-up, Angel and Ariel both confirmed that I was good.
Aside from a little shock, nothing else was wrong with me.
"Put your clothes back on, we'll meet you outside." Ariel smirked, chucking me my clothes.
