- AURELIA JONES -
I sat beside Angel with a wet towel around my neck, trying to slow the swelling down.
"You okay?" I croaked out. She nodded, a pain expression etched on her face.
"Peachy."
"Here girls." Rez made a fuss, "Take these!" He said, handing us two white pills each.
I looked at him, "Ibuprofen, take it." He basically forced me, "Drink!"
Taking the pills with a thick swallow, I relaxed against the couch. "Are you guys good? There was a lot of bloodshed out there."
Rez shrugged, "I'm fine." His voice was calm, but his body language said something else.
I pulled off the towel and got up, "Why don't you take Angel to bed." I offered, "I need to talk to Ollie anyway."
He nodded, helping Angel walk to their room. I hope he talks to her, bottling things up can be dangerous.
I would know.
I knocked on his door, bracing myself for walking into Lyza's room.
"Come in." He mumbled.
"Hey, got a minute?" I smiled.
He looked over at me, sprawled on the bed with his hand behind his head, "For you I have several."
I closed his door and sat on the bed with him, "How are you holding up?" I asked him.
He shrugged, "Don't lie to me Oliver."
He smiled at the use of his full name. "I just feel shitty."
"About what?"
"I've been thinking about Jace."
"And Lyza. Now I'm staying in her room and everything that's happened recently I just feel sad."
"Really fucking sad."
I lay down next to him, my head on his shoulder, "It's okay to feel sad. I would be scared if you didn't feel sad."
"But not like that. To the point where I don't know if I want to continue living."
I stared at him, "Don't ever say that again."
He blinked, "You're my best friend Ollie. If you die, I die. Okay? I will not let you feel enough sadness that it overwhelms you. If you feel like this again, come talk to me! I'll always listen to you."
He rubbed his eyes and nodded, "I love you okay? I love you so much and we've come this far, I can't lose you now, no one can."
"Promise me you'll come find me?" I asked worriedly.
"I promise."
We sat in silence for a while, until I decided it was time for me to go. I gave him another hug before leaving him in his room, heading back to mine to lie with Shoju.
Surprisingly, he was sat on the end of the bed with his head in his hands, stress-tugging at the strands of his hair.
"Hey, what's going on?" I asked him, hobbling over to him as I knelt down next to him, placing my hands on his knees.
