- AURELIA JONES -
My heart was beating sporadically against my chest. I shielded Lyza from whatever she was screaming from.
The boys followed closely behind, guns ablazing.
"In the closet! Something moved! I heard it I swear!" She cried, shaking in my arms. Angel stayed behind, distracting Lyza with jokes.
I cuddled her to me, stroking her hair whilst I walked to the end of the boat.
"Be careful!" I called out, watching Rez and Shoju walk into the room.
Ollie stayed behind, making eyes with me. "You okay?" He asked quietly.
I nodded, "I hate this Ol, I hate it so much." I sighed.
"I know." Is all he replied with.
Rez came out first, holding something up that looked like a jacket, a pink one with a fluffy hood and big wooden buttons.
"It fell off the hanger. It's okay." He visibly relaxed when Shoju lowered the gun.
Those words made my shoulders sag in relief. That's the best thing I've heard all day.
I put Lyza down as she wiped her eyes, "It's ok pretty girl." I said, kneeling to her height.
"Everything is ok. Just take a breath and we'll find something to eat okay?"
She sniffled and nodded, gripping onto my hand again.
I looked up at the boys with hooded lashes. They caught onto my look immediately.
It was a look of knowing.
Knowing that this is far from over.

Eventually we were on the way.
Funnily enough, the most peace I've felt in ten years is in the middle of the ocean.
We were less than an hour away from the Canadian boarder, but it felt like hours.
Nobody had said a word.
Rez was driving the boat with Angel keeping him comapny, Ollie was in the room he's sharing with Rez and Shoju was sitting on a couch in the small kitchen.
I was with Lyza, stroking her hair as she slept peacefully.
At least she's okay. That's the main thing.
I won't let her down, I promised myself. I promised Marion. Lyza found me, that must mean something.
I left her sleeping and crept back into the main area of the boat, taking in the wooden features and modern looking kitchen.
There was an oven, fridge and plenty of cupboard space.
"I'm not sure we'll have enough bags for all this stuff." Ollie came back into the room saying.
So far we had several bags full of food, bottled water and even a few jackets that were stored in a closet for winter.
"Make sure you take those gas canisters too. We can use those for a few months if we limit our driving time."
