- AURELIA JONES -
"There's nothing we can do now."
"They're already dead anyway, my advice- get out while you still can."
I recognise that voice, why do I recognise that voice?
"You said the serum would revive them Doc, I don't understand how it killed them?"
"The explosion killed them Jace, not me, not this serum. Whatever it was, the radioactive entities inside the serum is what caused their bodies to die. They're bodies are still here but their hive minds are completely alienated."
"... So what you're saying is, they were already turned before they even had the chance to survive?"
"Take it how you will Jace, but don't forget that they volunteered for this. The only person to blame is themselves."
Waking up in a cold sweat, my eyes shot open and I sat up from my lying position.
"Woah, woah slow your roll there! How the hell are you awake right now?" Ollie's comforting face came into view.
Shaking the nightmares from my mind,
I threw my arms around his shoulders, pulling him into a desperate embrace, "You came back for me." I whispered, tears pooling in my eyes. His hands rested on my waist, gentle as if I would break beneath his touch. "Of course I did, I told you I would?" He said with a confused look on his face.
I shook my head, "No- I just-" Pausing, I looked around the room, "We're- back home?"
"Yeah I thought it was weird too. I only just woke up a few minutes ago." I looked at him, "What do you mean? Where are the others?"
"They found me passed out only a few feet from you, turns out you're not the only one who almost died from that explosion." He said with a small smile. "Who's they? Ollie who found you?"
Just then, Angel walked in from the hallway carrying a bunch of medical supplies in her hand, her hair pulled into a loose ponytail with pieces framing her face.
"Oh my God." I gasped, trying to move to get to her, "Oh my God I thought I'd never see you again." I cried. She dropped her things and raced to me. I fell into her arms, taking comfort in her familiar scent and warm body.
"Same goes. I was so worried when we found you guys, I actually thought you were dead. It was so scary." She rubbed my back, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry- I don't know what happened." I whispered, "None of this is your fault. Don't you start apologising okay?" She sniffed, a smile on her face.
"Lets just focus on getting you better."
"I don't understand- how are you okay? Didn't they take you guys as well?" I said, remembering little pieces of the day we were attacked, "I watched them take you guys from the car?"
She sat down on the table next to me, as I lay on the couch. "I managed to get myself free from the guy who was restricting me a couple minutes after he took you. Rez and Shoju weren't far and heard everything. They didn't get to you and Ollie in time though." She said.
I frowned, "I'm so glad you're okay."
Ollie was sitting in the corner of the room with his leg propped up on a pillow, arms crossed with a numb look on his face, "Where is Rez? And Shoju?" I asked, "Shouldn't they be here too? Are they okay?"
Angel avoided my eyes, "Yeah- they're here. Let me fix you and then I'll take you to them okay?"
I shook my head, "No I- I wanna see them now." I tried to push her away, "Angel let me see them."
