- AUREALIA JONES -
The last three days were a blur.
We go home tomorrow.
After heading back over halfway home, we realised there was no initial threat other than those gunshots.
We avoided that side of the river and went East instead, tracking our movements with an orange flag.
However, I am so extremely sleep- deprived, dehydrated and hungry.
So fucking hungry.
I was shivering in my sleeping bag, but also sweating at the same time.
It was snowed another few inches last night. I was sleeping in my boots, bra, shirt, gloves and jacket.
But I was so hot.
My teeth were chattering.
Then again, I haven't been feeling too good the last couple of days.
I really need water.
I'm search of some, I rolled out of my sleeping bag, sniffing.
I couldn't breathe through my nose.
I'm sick!
I used a torch I found along the journey to see if any of the boys had water.
My head pounded when I stood up, and I felt like I was falling.
I quickly caught my side-stepping, flashing the torch towards where the guys were sleeping, in a seperate part of the house were all bunking in.
I switched the torch of when I reached Rez, "Hey, Rez. Do you have water?" I whispered, kicking him with my foot.
He moved, but didn't wake up.
I kicked Ollie, "Do you have water? I really need some."
He groaned, "Mm, no. Go back to sleep Lia." He whispered back.
I frowned, tip-toeing toward Jace's sleeping figure. I kneeled beside his face, shaking his shoulder gently as he stirred around, "Lia, you okay?" He stressed, sitting up. I nodded, "Do you have any water?"
I could only see the outline of his face through the lighting of the moon, but it was all I needed to see. He shook his head, "No, I don't. Are you sure you're okay?"
I sighed, "Yeah, I'm good. Sorry for waking you." I smiled.
Before I could move, he touched my hand. Butterflies erupted in my stomach, I froze, feeling his fingers link through mine, "You're burning up." He whispered.
What?
"You're like- really hot." Jace fretted, "Here, lie down for a minute."
He had touched my forehead and laid me down on his jacket he was using a pillow, his smell immediately engulfed me, and I felt relaxed. "I'm gonna get you some medicine."
Before I knew it he was already back, and I sat up. "What do you have?" I questioned, "Some... cold and flu syrup. It's for kids but... it should help you sleep."
