- AURELIA JONES -

A week had passed since everything happened.

I'm able to walk, eat, talk. The only thing I can't do very well is breathe.

I was standing at Angel's grave with a single wildflower. Tears poured down my face. And it didn't help the weather was gloomier than ever.

I placed the wildflower on top of her grave, the fresh dirt leaving crumbles on my shoes.

I'm soaking wet, grieving, and a freezing, numb, bundle of confusion.

Nothing made sense.

Everything hurts.

I wiped my eyes.

Something moved in the tree-line as I squinted my eyes to get a better look.

Everybody else was long gone back to base now, but I still stood in the park behind the building, with a heavy heart.

I heard growling, and my heart dropped.

However, before I had time to move, the thing I think I saw had collapsed into the bed of wildflowers.

It was thrashing about, loud screeches emitting from them.

God this is SUCH a bad idea.

No, don't do it Aurelia Jones. Don't do it...

I started walking toward the creature slowly, gripping the knife I had in pocket just in case.

I was ten feet away when the thing twitched, and I stopped dead in my tracks.

I could have sworn it was alive just before...

As I got closer, I noticed it's contorted arms, black blood and scaly, vine's crawling up its skin.

I held my breath, quietly peering over.

It was dead.

Alarm bells were ringing in my head.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a twig snaps.

I spin around, but I'm met face-to-face with the doctor who was taking care of me.

"Miss Jones, good to see you're up and well." He said with a grim expression, "You shouldn't be out here, it's not safe".

I frowned, "I'm fine, actually. I'm here to pay respects for my best friend who died".

He sighed, "I understand you're reasoning miss Jones, but I'm afraid I'm here to bring you inside. This part of the garden is closed after 5 PM during the colder seasons".

"Why?" I question.

The doctor looked away, "For reasons you will never understand. Now please, I don't want to repeat myself".

His vibe was off and I felt creeped out all of a sudden. I walked away from him slowly, turning back once to watch him.

He was inspecting the body, just like I was. But instead, he's writing things down and taking samples.
