- AURELIA JONES -
I woke up curled against the wall, my neck sore from the weird angle I was sleeping in.
However, there was a new addition. A handcuff, chained on my left wrist with a long chain leading to the ceiling.
It moved every time I did. Well, that's going to be annoying.
I was barely even awake when the door slammed open, revealing two people in masks instead of one. My heart started to hammer against my chest as they walked closer to me.
"No, please- don't touch me."
"Shut up." One of them said, "No, please. I just want to know where I am."
"I said shut up!" He yelled this time, bringing a metal bat down on my back. I screamed in agony, a hot, tingling feeling coursing over my back.
"Dude, he said not to hurt her." The other guy said, "I don't fucking care, I'm sick of her whining."
"No, please!" I coughed, "Please I didn't do anything." I cried, "P- please."
The two men picked me up by my arms, one of them unchaining me while I tried my best to keep standing, "Where are you taking me?" I questioned.
We exited the room I was in, going down a dark, scary hallway before my eyes met the light again.
I almost laughed, until I realised where we were outside and everything came crashing down again. We're in the main citadel, at the very top of the building, in the very centre of the city.
The roof was surprisingly peaceful, aside from the dark thunderclouds rolling in.
The man who hurt me let me go first. I dropped to my knees and quickly scrambled to my feet, still in a tight grip from the other guy.
"Leave her here. Boss will come for her soon."
"No. You can't leave me here! I'll die!"
The guy chuckled, "Let's hope so. Come on Diaz, let's roll."
"No, no, no please! Please don't leave me here alone!" I tried to chase after them and bang on the door but they were already gone.
"Shit!" I swore, kicking the door with my foot. "FUCK!" I screamed.
I was so angry right now. Who the hell were they to think they're allowed to literally kidnap somebody!
I'm a human being. I'm not- one of them.
At least I don't think I am...
I scanned my body for any type of injury. The only real problem being the bruise forming across my back.
I sat down and pulled my knees to my chest, why is this happening to me.
I don't know how long I had my head in my knees but I do know I nearly drifted off to sleep.
Birds cawed at the sky, the small inkling off rain starting to hit the roof. I tried to shelter myself as best I could, but I was having no luck.
They were leaving me here to die, might as well be comfortable.
"Listen, I know it's been a while since we spoke but I have to ask..." I said, talking to the sky above me.
"Why the hell- did you do this?"
For obvious reasons, the sky didn't answer. Didn't stop me from being angry at the apparent "God" that was meant to be watching over us.
"Like- I understand with pollution and, climate change but- an apocalypse? Really?"
