As there wondering around this huge city, they couldn't help but marvel at the ancient architecture and the intricate carvings that adorned the walls. The once-great city was now nothing but a shadow of its former glory, and the group couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder as they walked through its empty streets.

As they rounded a corner, they came upon a massive plaza, and in the center stood a towering statue of the emperor of the Kingdom of Avalon. The statue was carved from marble and stood over twenty feet tall, its features chiseled with incredible detail. The emperor's eyes seemed to follow them as they walked, and his outstretched hand held a scepter that glimmered in the dim light of the ruins.

Khai approached the statue, his hand tracing the intricate details of the carving. "This is incredible," he said, his voice filled with awe. "To think that this statue has been here for centuries, untouched by time."

Elara nodded in agreement, her eyes taking in the intricate carvings that covered the base of the statue. "It's almost as if it's been waiting for us to find it," she said.

Zarek, however, remained silent, he's observing the area around the plaza. Something didn't feel right to him, and he couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched.

Khai stepped closer to the statue of the Emperor, his eyes observing the intricate carvings etched into the stone. The details were exquisite, each line and curve painstakingly crafted by the hands of skilled artisans from a bygone era.

As he studied the statue, Khai began to recite the lore of the Emperor, Lord Goffridus, passed down through the ages by bards and historians. The tale spoke of a great leader who rose to power during a time of chaos and turmoil, his iron will and unwavering determination uniting the Kingdom of Avalon under his banner.

But as the years passed, whispers began to spread that the Emperor, Lord Goffridus had made a pact with dark powers in order to secure his rule. Some claimed to have seen him performing dark rituals and communing with malevolent spirits in the depths of the night. Others whispered of a secret society of sorcerers and assassins who did the Emperor's bidding, striking down his enemies and spreading fear throughout the land.

Despite the rumors, the Emperor remained in power for many years, his rule marked by both prosperity and tyranny. But as he grew older, his grip on the throne began to slip, and factions rose up to challenge his authority. The final battle was said to have been fought in the very streets of Yrolk, the once-great city reduced to ruins in the chaos that ensued.

As Khai finished reciting the tale, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. What other secrets and mysteries lay buried in the ancient city of Yrolk, waiting to be uncovered?

As Khai finished reading the inscription, he realized that the emperor's story was intertwined with the history of Yrolk. According to the inscription, the emperor had commissioned the construction of the city to serve as a beacon of hope and a symbol of strength for the Kingdom of Avalon.

As they explored further, the group discovered that the city had been abandoned for centuries, the once great buildings now reduced to rubble and ruins. Despite the desolation, there was an eerie feeling in the air, as if the ghosts of the past still lingered in the shadows.

As they continued their journey, they stumbled upon a massive underground chamber, filled with intricate murals depicting battles, legends, and mythology. Khai deciphered the ancient script, learning about the gods of Yrolk and their ancient power, as well as the reason for the city's downfall.

It was said that the gods had become angry with the people of Yrolk, for they had become too greedy and power-hungry. The gods cursed the other cities by sending "the unfamiliar shadow" sending to the void and gods cursed Yrolk, by causing the earth to quake and swallow it whole.
