3rd POV

An Bai: The pursers are not after us. We escape.

Tanjiro: Were you able to identify who were after us?

An Bai: That I do not. I don't recognize their clothes, but I think they are Snezhnaya's agents.

Tanjiro: Agents?

An Bai: It's only a guess, but the way they have been spying on us and their attack can only lead that the Tsaritsa is after us.

Tanjiro: Makes sense how they were able to walk in the city. So the Tsaritsa is after us, but why.

An Bai: I don't know, but I don't know a lot about her except that she is a benevolent goddess and everyone loves her.

Tanjiro: Well we got to find a place to rest for the night. Looks like were skipping the festival since the Tsaritsa is after us.

An Bai: I agree. Let's find a place we can stay for the night.

Tanjiro and An Bai leave their hiding place and stay in the shadows to make sure that they weren't seen.

They traverse through the alleyways when they see a tavern that has light in it.

Tanjiro: Looks like the tavern is open.

An Bai: Let's go there, but be careful.

Tanjiro nods his head in affirmation and they walk towards the tavern.

They slowly open the door and enter when they see the owner reading a newspaper.

Owner: What brings you here faraway from the middle?

Tanjiro: We have... "circumstances."

Owner: Is that so... then I won't look into it. You need a room?

Tanjiro: Can we get two rooms.

Owner: Got it.

The owner goes through the back and come back with two keys.

Your room is in the second floor. Room number is 3 and 5.

They grab their keys and leave the owner alone to read his newspaper. They climb the stairs and reach the second floor and walk in the hallway until they see their room.

When they reach their room, they notice that the order of numbers is incorrect.

An Bai: 1, 2, 3, 5? Where's 4?

Tanjiro: Weird unless he believes in the superstition.

An Bai: What superstition?

Tanjiro: Where I from, the number 4 is seen as misfortune and the pronunciation to say 4.

An Bai: What's the pronunciation?

Tanjiro: Death.

Suddenly, the the temperature drop significantly and the sound of the owner disappear. The darkness in the building become thicker as An Bai felt voices in her ears.

An Bai: What do you mean that 4 is death.

Tanjiro: Because 4 in the continent my country live believe that 4 is the number that brings death, though mostly because 4 in their language pronounce death. But 4 where I from is believe that death is coming for you.

An Bai: Is that so... Well that's an interesting belief where you from.

Tanjiro: Mhm. Anyway, we should get some sleep. Goodnight, An Bai.

An Bai: Goodnight, Tanjiro.

They enter their room and slept for the night, but...

Owner: ...
