Theodora sat with her elbows on her knees, resting her chin in her hands as she waited for the others to be done going through Reagan's memories. She looked up in shock as the door burst open and Bear-o rolled in.
"Are you shitting me?" Theodora groaned, standing up and edging away from the robot.
"Hey, Shitty Ruxpin, when I'm done with you, you'll be playing banjo in a strip-mall pizza arcade." Alpha-Beta rolled in after Bear-o, he had had some upgrades and now had six legs like a spider. To her delight, her friends appeared at the doorway, Andre holding a laptop which probably controlled Alpha-Beta.
"Bear-o's perfect endgame, where a kid can be a kid." Bear-o turned around to face Alpha-Beta.
"Let them fight." Andre muttered under his breath.
"You will pay for your hubris, Bear."
"This is truly a toxic workplace." Bear-o answered.
"Oh, you have no idea how toxic it can get, Care Bear!"
"I'm not a Care Bear!" The two robots proceeded to fight, Theo watched in apprehension as Bear-o blasted a laser that went through the walls.
"Allow me to put this into words you'll understand." Alpha-Beta had Bear-o pinned against the wall, "Get fucked, Smokey!"
But Bear-o reached behind him and grabbed the pot of coffee that was sitting on a bench, flinging it over to where the group stood. It made contact with Andre's computer, causing it to crackle and stop working.
The same could be said for Alpha-Beta's mechanical limbs, and they fell apart, leaving Alpha-Beta in his original form. Bear-o picked Alpha-Beta up easily, and began smashing him into the vat,
"Shit. He has no neck! Stay low and close so he can't see you!"
Eventually, the glass from the vat broke and the liquid flowed out, leaving Rand, Reagan and Brett on the ground.
Theodora rushed over to them, Reagan lifted her head weakly and coughed. Seeing that she was okay, she went over to Brett, who was not stirring.
"Brett," She hissed, shaking him awake. "come on."
"You literally fucked with our heads?" Theo looked over to Reagan, who was now standing and facing their father menacingly.
"What are you talking about?" Theodora stood by her sister, looking between her father and Reagan.
"Screw Bear-o! I'll kill you myself!" Reagan yelled, and Theo's eyes widened in shock, she'd never seen Reagan so angry in her life. "I had a friend, and I had a real sister, and you erased them!"
"What are you talking about?" Theodora repeated.
"He," Reagan pointed at Rand, "he messed with our memories! He got rid of my only friend! And Theo, he-"
"What?"
"He made us hate each other." Reagan said sadly.
"What do you mean, made us hate each other?" Theodora turned to Rand, her arms crossed.
"All friends do is hold people back!" Rand snapped, "And so was your sister, she was starting to distract you with girlish things and you were buying into it!"
"So you altered our memories," Reagan said slowly, her eyes filled with hatred, "and made us think we were insanely jealous of each other?"
Theo frowned, taking this in. "So... we never actually hated each other?"
"No, Theo, we didn't." Reagan said softly, a hand on her sister's back. "This asshole just made us think we were."
"Seriously?" Theo snapped, she felt sick to the stomach.
"And you want Bear-o to be my only friend? Fine." Reagan directed to Rand, "Hey, Bear-o, you win. But if you let my friends go, then I promise to never see any of them ever again."
"Bear-o will speed up the process." The robot turned slowly and menacingly to the group.
"No! No! Stop!" Reagan and Theo yelled, running in front of the robot to protect the group.
"Orrin!" Brett had woken up, "The password is Orrin!" Theo rushed back over to him, hugging him tightly. He wrapped his arms around her, she was shaking for some reason. He guessed he must have missed something, as they joined the group on the other side of Bear-o.
"Wait, Orrin! That's the password! That's what I forgot!" Reagan yelled, "Enter access key O-R-R-I-N. System override."
Bear-o switched off, falling flat with a loud clank. "Fuck that bear!"
"Brett, you saved us!" Reagan grinned proudly at him.
"We saved us." He corrected. Theo stared at the ground, still trying to take in what she had just learned. She had spent years and years despising her sister for no reason whatsoever.
"Bravo, Reagan." Everyone turned to Rand, who was approaching them with a slow clap, "The way you manipulated that bear into thinking you gave a shit about your coworkers? Ha!"
"I do give a shit about them." Reagan said, "What I need boundaries from is you!"
"Okay, I hear you. I'll order one of those paper curtain thingies for the living room as soon as we get home. There's some areas a daughter shouldn't have to see a parent scratch." Rand chuckled.
"Oh, fuck you, Dad. It's not your home anymore." Reagan said harshly. Theodora looked up in surprise.
"Oh, come on. There are special people like us who should run the world," Rand approached Reagan, "and then there's normies like Orrin, and Theo, no offence honey, who deliver our pizza and fight our wars. Haven't you seen The Incredibles?"
Theo's jaw dropped open and Brett's arm fell from around her as she stormed over to where Reagan stood. "What the fuck?" She demanded.
"You can't pit us against each other anymore." Reagan grabbed Theo's hand, squeezing it tightly. "It's not going to work."
"All right, all right. I fucked up." Rand sighed, "I get it. But we don't have to dwell on it, why don't you let me erase our memories of this little incident, and we can go back to normal?" He held out a memory-eraser gun.
Reagan took it, pondering for a minute. With a glare at her father, Theo took the gun from Reagan and snapped it in half swiftly.
"You've got 24 hours. Pack your shit up, or I'm dumping it in the Potomac." Reagan warned, "The mole is neutralized, so now I'm officially the boss around here, which means you are never ever setting foot in this building or our lives again."
Reagan used her watch to control what used to be Alpha-Beta's robot legs to drag Rand out of the room, "You're making a mistake, you need me. I'll be back!"
Theo watched him go, and Brett approached her and placed his arm around her once again. She wondered, was this it? Have we finally cut ties with him forever?
"I'll see all you tomorrow." Reagan declared loudly and triumphantly.
"What's tomorrow?" Glenn asked.
"My first real day as boss!"
