Reagan in fact did not feel better the day afterwards, and stayed in her room once again.

At Cognito, everyone was a little unnerved by Rand's new position but to most people it wasn't as personal as it was for Theo and Reagan.

"Theo, get in here."

Theodora was walking past her father's new office. She stopped in her tracks, glaring at her father from his desk. That asshole.

"What do you want?" She demanded, storming into the room.

"Sit down, kiddo." Rand said. Theo stood rooted to the spot, staring down at her father. "I know you're mad at me."

"Mad?" She laughed sarcastically. "No, you're dead to me."

"Okay, seems like you just need a little more time." Rand shrugged nonchalantly. "As your boss, I'm ordering you to sit down."

Theodora pressed her lips together angrily, but sat down anyway.

"My first action as CEO, well apart from throwing your sister out of her position," Rand said with a chuckle, "is to give you a promotion."

"What?" Theo raised an eyebrow. "What is this? Are you trying to bribe your way back into my good books?"

"No, I know you'll forgive me in your own time," Rand said confidently.

"Unlikely."

"I'm deciding to make you head of the law department."

"Be for real. I didn't even finish law school." Theodora scoffed, leaning back into the chair with folded arms.

"Who cares?" Rand exclaimed, "I'm CEO! I have the power to do anything!"

"So, like, I'll be a lawyer?" Theodora shifted in her seat, somewhat intrigued. This really was her dream but she couldn't believe that she was even considering this.

"Not just any lawyer, a criminal lawyer, wink wink."

"Oh, like Saul Goodman!" Theo stood excitedly. If he was bribing her, this was working all too well.

"Exactly like Saul Goodman, honey!" Rand grinned. "And not only that, you'll be in charge of all the assholes in your department."

Theodora couldn't hide a smile from her face, it was like a dream come true, "Wait, I'm taking the job but I am not forgiving you."

"Don't care. I'm back on top and now I just want to keep it in the family."

"Ugh, weird." Theodora frowned. "But, really?"

"Yeah, kiddo. Besides, without Reagan here, who's assistant even are you?" Rand said. "I need your help so I can stay on top of the Cognito food chain."

"I knew there was an ulterior motive." Theo sighed. "So all I gotta do is keep you out of jail?" She almost shivered with excitement, she felt like she was in Better Call Saul and she loved it.

"Yep."

"Easy!" Theo grinned, "I still hate you, though. But no take backs on the job!"

"And there's literally a real life Walter White," Theodora explained to Brett excitedly, as she paced his office. "did you know that Breaking Bad was based on a real story?"

"That's crazy!" Brett grinned, "I'm so proud of you, Theo!" He hugged her tightly, before pulling away and kissing her forehead.

"And there are so many contracts of celebrities who sold their souls to the devil." Theo continued.

"That's creepy." Brett said, but he loved seeing Theo get excited and talk about the things she liked.

"Do you think Reagan will be mad at me?" She began pacing again, "That I took this job?"

"This is your dream job. She'll be supportive, I'm sure." Brett told her.

"It's probably a bit of a sensitive topic right now, though." Theodora said. "I just have to make it clear that this doesn't mean I'm happy with Rand in charge."

"I think she'll be able to handle it." Brett assured her, "Tell her tonight, I'll be there with you in case she... tries to kill you, or something."

"Hey! You do think she's gonna be mad!" Theodora snapped, "Oh no, she so would kill me..."

"No, no no." Brett added quickly, "She probably won't."

"Can you tell her?" Theodora pleaded, "She won't kill you."

"Theo," He scolded, "you just have to rip off the band-aid."

"Oh, alright." She grumbled.

That afternoon they returned from work, and found Reagan sitting on the couch which was a great improvement, it meant she had finally left her room.

Theodora held Brett's hand for support as they stood in front of her, "Heyyy Reagan."

"Hey guys." Reagan eyed them, they were acting weird. They usually did, but they were being weirder than usual.

"There aren't any sharp objects within her reach, go for it." Brett whispered to Theo, and she nodded gravely in return.

"So, Reags, I've got some news." She started.

"What kind of news?" Reagan glanced at them, tearing her gaze away from the TV show she was incredibly invested in.

"Uh, I mean... good? Depends from what perspective you're-"

Reagan looked between the two, her eyes narrowed. "Hold on, what the fuck is this, are you pregnant or something?" The way they were holding hands insinuated it had something to do with the two of them.

"No, no, nothing like that." Theodora glanced at Brett. "I just... I got a promotion at work."

"Oh." There was no denying the surprise in Reagan's voice.

"And I know it's a bit of a sensitive topic since... y'know. But I want you to know that this doesn't mean I support Rand being CEO cause you know I'd rather have you in charge and everything," Theodora began speaking very quickly, "but this job is literally a dream and I'm really happy so I hope you're happy for me as well."

"What's the position?" Reagan didn't seem mad, she didn't seem phased at all. If she was, she was hiding it incredibly well.

"I'm gonna be head of the law department."

"That's really cool." Reagan smiled, but her eyes were faraway. "I'm happy for you, Theo."

"Oh, uh-" Theo glanced at Brett, because although Reagan seemed to be happy, it was unlike her to take this news without making a single joke or comment.

"Alright, you guys are blocking the TV." Reagan said, craning her neck to look past them.

"Right." Theo and Brett left.

"I told you she wouldn't be mad." Brett flopped onto her bed carelessly.

"You didn't think that was... weird?" Theodora shrugged off her blazer, throwing it over a chair.

"I mean, yeah, that wasn't really Reagan-y." He sat up. "But if she seriously did have a problem with it, she'd say so."

"She's sad, is all." Theodora concluded, "I mean, that job was her whole life."

"Yeah." Brett sighed.

"I'm worried for her, I mean, what's she gonna do now she's not at work?"

Brett pondered for a moment, "She could pick up a hobby, like knitting."

"As long as the hobby isn't drinking, I think she'll be fine." Theo flopped onto the bed next to him.
