They searched Brett's office first, Reagan's ethics bot scanned the room as everyone tried to find clues to whether he might have stolen the file. Theodora had full faith that it wasn't Brett who stole the file, especially considering he didn't even know what it was when the day started.

"Well, Brett's creepily clean." Reagan concluded as they had searched every square inch. "Is that an entire drawer of Purell?"

"Mm-hmm. That's some American Psycho shit." Gigi peered into the draw as well, a frown on her face.

"Aw, he's just like Patrick Bateman," Theodora wasn't creeped out by the fact he had rows and rows of hand sanitiser in his draw, at least he was clean, "except that he isn't homicidal or misogynistic and he didn't steal the file."

"Strangely defensive of your boyfriend, Theo," Myc said, "maybe you two stole it, Bonnie and Clyde style."

"No." Theodora scoffed, "That would require way too much effort."

"I'm a blank slate, and I have nothing to hide." Brett announced as the ethics bot scanned him,

"Concealed item detected!" The robot declared, backing him to the wall and opening his shirt to reveal a recording tape.

"He's got a wire!" Myc yelled.

"Oh, my God!" Reagan exclaimed as the group surrounded him, "My hunch about you from day one was right! You're some kind of sleeper agent created in a lab by Abercrombie!"

"Reagan." Theodora started, "That's not-"

"Quiet, Theo." Reagan said over her shoulder, she was now face to face with Brett menacingly, the rest of the group trapping him. "He's not who you think he is." Theodora sighed, folding her arms as she watched this unfold.

"Quick, test his reflexes!" Myc said, before hitting Brett in the stomach with a baseball bat.

"Guys, okay, I can explain." Brett groaned, "This is my audio journal." He pressed play, and his own voice came out of it, "Dear diary, how are you? I'm Brett. Sometimes I wonder, do trees have feelings?"

The group exchanged concerned and also ashamed glances as Brett continued to explain himself, "My therapist recommended that I keep one because I feel emotionally gaslit by a lot of you guys."

"Scan complete. Area cleared." The ethics bot concluded.

They moved onto Gigi's office,

"Look, search all you want." She said proudly, "The only thing you'll find looking through my personal possessions is jealousy."

"Jealousy, and dozens of rejected job applications to work for the Illuminati?" Reagan pulled out a pile of files from one of Gigi's draws. The group gasped collectively.

"Gigi, no!" Theodora looked to her friend, who wouldn't meet her eyes.

"Maybe you sold out J.R in exchange for a cushy new gig with Oprah at our rival company!" Reagan accused.

"You're leaving us, Gigi?" Brett exclaimed, before speaking discreetly into the microphone taped to him for his diary, "Dear diary, abandonment issues rearing their ugly head again."

"That's none of your goddamn business." Gigi stormed over to Reagan and ripped the files from her hands. "If I wanted J.R canceled, I'd have done it with a tweet. I got cancel tweets locked and loaded for all y'all, so watch your ass!"

They went to Andre's office next,

"Did someone already ransack Andre's office?" Brett glanced around at the mess of his lab.
