"Okay," Reagan typed furiously on her laptop as they sat in the Uber, Theodora squished between the pair with the duffel bag on her lap. "we need to infiltrate the hotel and regain control of the President."
"Well, that's easily done." Theodora muttered sarcastically. The three of them lurched forward as they stopped at the hotel the 'President' was staying in.
"Oh my God, there's Secret Service everywhere." Reagan said, a strain in her voice.
"I have an idea!" Brett said, to both of the Ridley's surprise, he held up a pair of black sunglasses he had put in the bag meant for weapons. "I can definitely blend in as one of them."
"Perfect!" Theodora exclaimed, leaning over Reagan and opening the door, "Go!"
Brett climbed out of the Uber, and managed to Bro his way past the security in the front. He then turned back to the car and signalled them to join him.
He proceeded to convince every single security they came across to be relieved of their duty, all through a secret frat handshake.
When they finally got to the floor they needed, Brett was able to finesse the last security guard, thus leaving the hallway clear.
"Holy shit!" Reagan exclaimed and the pair rounded the corner to meet Brett, "I can't believe that worked that many times in a row!"
Brett looked incredibly proud of himself, which made Theodora smile.
"How do you know all those frat handshakes?" Reagan asked, and Theodora was glad to see her sister warming up to Brett.
"Oh, easy. I pledged every frat." Brett answered, taking off his sunglasses and slipping them in his pocket. "I had 38 hell weeks."
Theodora laughed, the story being funnier the second time around.
"That checks out." Reagan shrugged. "Alright he should be in this room." They stopped in front of a door. Reagan took a deep breath, before busting the door open,
"Initiate shutdown sequence!" Reagan yelled as the three of them stormed into the room.
"Sorry folks," The robot stood, "I wrote that part of my code out. Who wants a Jack and Coke?"
Brett sucked in his breath, "Ooh, do you have Diet?" Theodora stifled a laugh, as she wasn't sure whether he was joking or not.
"Wait, you rewrite your own code?" Reagan seemed dumbfounded. "You've reached true AI!" She said, almost proudly.
"Indeed I have." The robot answered, but the more Theodora looked at the robot pouring Brett's drink, the less it seemed AI and the more it seemed human.
"Fuck yeah!" Reagan exclaimed, and Theodora bowed her head silently. This was not the time to gloat in her victories. "Suck on that, Boston Dynamics! I mean, go on."
"And as soon as I did, I realised that it was high time for America to withdraw from the globe." The robot said, handing Brett his drink.
"Nationalism is just politics for basic bitches." Reagan spat.
"Don't drink that, Brett." Theodora murmured, taking the glass away from his lips. Brett looked disappointed, but obeyed.
"Countries can't just hide from the world!" Reagan continued.
"America can." ROBOTUS said simply. "We can do and eat anything we put our minds to."
"Ugh!" Reagan groaned impatiently, "I don't have time to explain that America isn't perfect, but I could show you!" Reagan ripped open her mobile phone and stuck a piece in the back of the robot's head.
"God, what are you doing?" Brett asked, almost disgusted.
"Connecting him to the goddamn internet." Reagan said determinedly.
"Facebook!" Theodora said excitedly.
"Yes, Theo, indeed. Five minutes on Facebook and he'll lose his patriotism boner." Reagan said proudly as ROBOTUS began sparking and twitching.
When he regained consciousness, he ripped out the piece of Reagan's phone that was in his head, and looked up at the three of them, "Wow." He said, almost tiredly.
"Yeah."
"I mean, just Florida alone..."
"Right."
"It appears you were right, Reagan." The robot spoke, getting to his feet. "All of humanity is flawed."
"See, he learned!" Reagan looked proudly at Brett and Theodora.
"The best thing for humanity is to end it." ROBOTUS continued. "Hello, Pentagon? It's me." He started speaking on the phone. "Arm all the nukes and set targets to... everywhere. Stand by for the codes."
The three of them froze, not sure what to do, until Reagan yelled, running at the robot. He grabbed her by the neck and threw her to the ground easily.
Theodora tried next, but the robot did the same thing to her, leaving her crumpled next to her sister.
Brett managed to get a shove in, but ROBOTUS managed to get two hands on him, choking him ruthlessly.
"Maybe you overcorrected a bit here, Reagan." Brett managed to choke out. Theodora leapt for the weapons bag that dropped from Brett's arm and she pulled out the first thing she could find, which happened to be aviation fuel.
Aiming it at the robot she sprayed it, and pure fire came out the nozzle. However it only charred away some of the robot's face, leaving behind his metal innards.
The three of them yelled in surprise, and Theodora dropped the can.
Then, the door burst open and three security guards stepped in, their snipers pointed at each of them, "Step away from the President!"
Thinking quickly, Reagan grabbed both Brett and Theo by their collars and threw them out the window, herself not far behind. Luckily, they fell onto a ledge. Theodora peered down, feeling queasy.
She groaned, rubbing her head where the glass broke. "Hey, you okay?" Brett reached out and his hand ghosted over her cut on her forehead.
"Yeah." She smiled, even though blood started to drip down her face. She looked away, but Brett's concerned eyes stayed on her.
"Shh!" Reagan hissed, glaring at the other two.
At the sound of three bodies thudding to the ground, the three of them climbed back through the window.
"Holy shit!" Reagan mumbled as they saw the three dead security guards, "I think I just caused the singularity!"
"I don't know what that is." Brett said, panic in his voice.
"Neither! What do we do now?" Theodora added. A determined look on her face, Reagan grabbed the broken bit of her phone, and one of the security guard's guns and started working on it.
"Theo, you're bleeding a lot." Brett's voice was still panicked. She blinked as blood trickled into her eye.
"Fuck." She held up a hand to her cut, and when she drew it back it was covered in blood.
"Reagan-" Brett warned her sister, and she briefly held up her head to inspect Theo's wound.
"Fucking hell, Theodora. Go back to the office and get patched up. You can fill the others in." She said impatiently.
"And what about you guys?" She stood, feeling a bit woozy.
"We have to take down the President." Reagan said, finishing whatever she was doing to the gun. "Now go."
