"You know I can literally fire your ass! And I will do it!"
"Then go ahead! Like you said, it's not like I really do anything, anyway!"
Reagan and Theodora were having one of their classic fights, a tiny thing set them off and now it was blown way out of proportion.
"I'm so sick of your entitled ass!" Reagan yelled, "'Reagan, drive me here. Reagan, buy me this. Reagan, I don't like this brand of cereal.'"
"I actually am capable of driving myself places," Theodora said, "maybe I just want to spend time wi-"
"Cut the crap, I know you don't like spending time with me." Reagan muttered.
"Girls," Rand interjected lazily from the couch, "no fighting so close to the holidays."
"So what I'm a little high maintenance?" Theodora demanded, her hands on her hips. "I have standards."
"You are so draining to be around!" Reagan groaned, "I can't do anything right around you, you always have a problem with everything I do!"
"Because you're weird and annoying!" Theo snapped, "And I'm giving you constructive criticism!"
"I don't want your criticism! I couldn't care less about your opinion of me!"
"This is why no one likes you." Theodora muttered.
"I can't do this right now." Reagan sighed, crossing the room to the door, "I'm out of here, I can't be near you right now." With that, she opened the door.
"Where are you gonna go, huh?" Theodora raised her eyebrow. "You have no friends."
Reagan ignored the girl, slamming the door behind her. Theodora groaned and sunk down onto the couch, breathing heavily with anger.
"You happy with yourself?" Rand turned to the girl. "I just missed that entire episode of Property Brothers."
"Good. Why do you want to watch that twincest show anyway?" Theodora shot her father a dirty look.

It was the last day of work before they went on Christmas break,
"Hey handjob," Theodora slid into the seat next to him in the cafeteria.
"Heyy T." Brett shot finger guns at her.
She laughed, picking up her fork. "Have you seen Reagan today?"
"No, actually, I haven't." Brett admitted with a frown.
"She wasn't home when I woke up this morning. I don't even know if she's at work today."
"Have you tried calling her?" Brett said in a concerned tone.
"No. It's not like I'm worried about her." Theodora said quickly, "I just need to know if I've got a ride home or not."
"Mkay." Brett said, he wasn't convinced that she wasn't worried about Reagan.
"So, um, did you get an invitation to that Yale alumni thing?" Theodora asked.
"Yeah, I did," Brett said excitedly, "but I don't even know why they would invite me."
"You were a frat guy," Theodora shrugged, "I was a sorority girl. Of course we're invited, we were the biggest assholes there."
"I'm starting to think you didn't like Yale." Brett laughed.
"It was full of dicks, in my opinion." She said, "Me included. And I didn't like who I was back then."
"Oh God," Brett rested his head in his hands, "I'm one of those dicks, aren't I?"
"You're not," She giggled, "trust me."
"I'm assuming you aren't going, then?" Brett said.
"I mean I might go," She twirled her fork in her hand, "but I don't really have anyone to go with."
"Jasper won't take you?" Brett asked quietly, picking at his food.
"No, he uh, he doesn't want to go." Theodora said sadly. She was hoping to bring her boyfriend to prove to her ex, Brad, that she had moved on, if Brad was even going to be there.
"Hey," Brett sat up straighter, "we can go together!"
"Really?" Her heart lifted, "I mean, I thought you would have someone else to go with already."
"No, I don't hear much from my Yale bros." Brett said, avoiding her eyes. It was a sensitive topic after he found out he was pretty much a joke at Yale.
"Oh," She wasn't sure what to say, staring down at her plate. "At least we'll have each other, then." She thought on the bright side.
"You're right." Brett said, maybe he could use this chance to prove to his 'friends' that he wasn't a nobody.

Christmas Eve, the night of the Yale alumni event rolled around, and Brett picked Theodora up from her house. Both of them were nervous, but for different reasons. While Theodora wanted to show off in front of her ex-boyfriend, Brett wanted to show off in front of his fraternity brothers.
"You look nice." Brett breathed as Theodora opened the door, she was wearing a simple black dress and she had straightened her hair. She did a small twirl to show off the dress.
"So do you." She grinned, opening the door wider to let him in. "You clean up pretty well, handjob."
"Are you guys serious?" Reagan groaned from the couch, "How stuck in the past are you two?"
"Very." Brett laughed nervously. Everyone knew what happened the last time he was nostalgic.
"Where are you kids going on Christmas Eve?" Rand emerged from the kitchen, a beer in his hand. "Are you two going to the prom?"
"What?" Theodora frowned, "Dad, you're like 10 years too late for that."
"Don't worry, dad." Reagan waved her hand in the air as Rand took a seat next to her, "They're just man-children who are revelling in their days when they were popular in college."
"She's just jealous." Theodora explained to Brett, who was watching the interaction with curiosity. Reagan had returned home like nothing happened and they ignored their fight like usual. "Reagan doesn't get out very much. She would kill to be invited to an event like this."
"Yeah, sure." Reagan laughed. "Like I'd want to spend an entire night with Yale assholes. I already live with one."
"Girls, girls, no fighting." Rand said lazily, "Now Brett, you take good care of my daughter tonight at the prom. And wear a condom, for God's sake."
"I will!" Brett said enthusiastically. "Take care of her, I mean. Not the thing about the condom." He added hastily, a nervous smile on his face.
"Okay, we're leaving." Theodora said angrily, grabbing Brett by his arm and dragging him out the door.
