1 year later

"Theo, are you ready?" Reagan's head popped around the door of Theodora's room. "You know, dressing like that doesn't erase your dysfunctional family."

Theodora had on her usual gray skirt and business casual blazer, her white collared shirt poking through.

"Yeah, hold on for a sec." Theodora muttered, fixing her hair so it sat nicely.

"Hurry up, we have to pick up dad. He's yelling at people in front of the White House again." Reagan urged her sister, who groaned but picked up her pace by chucking on her Mary Jane platforms quickly.

They drove to the White House, where Rand Ridley did in fact stand terrorising a group of school children.

"Dad, what the fuck?" Reagan yelled as she rolled down the window. "Has retirement made you go completely insane?"

"No, but the 5G radio waves in the air have," Rand replied, a sly smile on his face, "which you can read all about in my new manifesto available on Kindle." He directed to the school children who were still being hurried away by their teacher.

"Oh Jesus Christ!" Theodora groaned, "Don't listen to our father, kids!" She stuck her head out of the window. "He gets his news from Facebook and Ambien."

"Ambien's a great drug. Really clarifies some things." Rand smiled at the kids who were rooted to the spot.

"Come on, I'm gonna be late for work." Reagan groaned, looking at her watch.

"Big boss Reagan wouldn't dare be late." Theodora muttered under her breath, as Rand opened the car door and climbed into the backseat.

"Hey, girls, let's go to the mall and get a Wetzel's Pretzel." Rand piped up as they drove to Cognito Inc. "They got those ones with the... with the cheese inside the crust."

"Dad, I know retirement is tough," Reagan began slowly, "but there's more positive ways to get our attention than taking down the Deep State."

Rand shrugged it off, obviously thinking his parenting techniques were in no need of improvement.

"Besides, today, I am finally getting that promotion." Reagan continued excitedly. "Imagine it, me, ruling the office with an iron fist!"

"Sounds like a dream." Theodora muttered, picking at her nails.

"I even programmed an iron fist!" Reagan reached behind her seat and pulled out a mechanical iron fist.

"I've seen better." Rand shrugged, pulling out his flask and taking a swig. The two of them continued to argue about Reagan's iron fist while Theodora sighed and looked down at her phone and started playing Candy Crush.

They finally arrived at Cognito Inc, passing through reception.

"Good morning, Dr and Ms Ridley." The receptionist said in a robotic voice, earning a glare from Theodora.

"Look, Dad, as long as you're living with us, we need to set some ground rules." Reagan began as they went through security measures. "First, no more vodka for breakfast."

Theodora zoned out again and followed the pair, her eyes glued to her phone again. She broke off from the pair when they continued to Reagan's lab.
