Misplaced Jealousy - Thor Odinson One Shot

She was very fond of the God of Mischief, otherwise known as Loki. She loved his jokes and loved his company but she doesn't love him like she loves Thor, her heart ached thinking about the pitiful Midgardian woman he had been seeing. This made he mad and hurt her beyond words but she remained kind, considerate, and respectful despite her spiteful glances at the brunette. She spent a great number of her night crying in the arms of the God of Thunders brother, he was always there for her but he never really wanted anything romantic. 

   Loki always notice the glances she would give Thor, his idiot and obviously blind brother. He didn't notice her stares and she didn't seem to notice his, Loki noticed all of this and he was desperate to get the oblivious parties together before something happened. Loki was not fond of his brother but he was very close to her and her happiness made him happy so he did whatever he could for her sake, which meant dealing with his brother. 

   Thor wasn't at all happy with the woman that clung to his arm, she was sweet and she was kind but she was not her. She was not the goddess that he wanted on his arm but he didn't think she wanted him, she was always with his brother so he assumed that she would never be with him. He knew she would never be his, she would never look at him like she did with Loki. It pained him, pained him in a way he had not felt before. He was jealous of his brother, jealous of the relationship he had with her.

She sat with Loki, they enjoyed the moments of peace like these and even more so when the flowers of the gardens were in full bloom. She loved them, loved every flower in every garden in Asgard because they were a different kind of beautiful compared to that of the other realms. She smiled holding a vibrant blue flower in her hands delicately,

"You know how he is, oblivious to everything, even if that something is right in front of him" Loki said as he watched her examine the flower sitting in her hands.

"I know, It just pains me to see him with her" She grumbled tossing the flower into the wind as a gust blew past, watching the flower she sat amongst the others.

"Loki, do you think he knows the pain? Ah, forget that my mind has been misplaced for a few nights now. I do have an awful lot of trouble sleeping now-a-days" she pointed out something Loki already knew. He knew she didn't sleep much because of he own doubts but he could only offer so much help.

"How about you talk to him? I'm sure the man could give you at least that much" he was trying to be positive, trying to make her see what he knew already to be true.

"how absurd, really Loki? Of all the ideas that wondrous brain of yours could come up with you choice that?" She found the idea to be amusing but not that bad though she would never have the guts to get up the courage to talk with him. 

Thor watched from a few yards away able to hear every word, Loki had told him to find him in the gardens in the back courtyard of the castle but he never expected this. Loki did, he planned this and stood in her blind spot to block the burly man so he could listen in on her conversation with him. Thor had spent unneeded time worrying about her loving him, he was jealous of his brother for nothing.

letting out an exasperated sigh she leaned back feeling the soft grass under her sink in "I love him, Loki, this is torture"

"Then you should have told me" Thor's voice made her heart leap into the pits of self-consciousness as she stood quickly making sure to brush away the grass as she blushed with her face away from him. Loki took this as his cue to leave and did so in regular Loki fashion, spectacularly.

"Why have you kept this from me?" he looked at her walking up to stand in front of her "because you have the brunette on your arm and I do not want to break that up, I am not that type of person." She said matter-of-fact still unable to look into his eyes.

"Did the thought that maybe I feel the same cross through your mind? She's really not the woman I want, she is kind, yes but she isn't the one for me. I thought you were with my brother, the way you look at him when you laugh and smile I could have sworn to Odin that you wanted him by your side and not me." She had to look at him now, she had to see the sincerity in the words he was telling her and the moment she looked into his ever honest blue eyes she saw everything she needed to see. She felt the weakness in her knees but made the first move by latching herself into his neck in a tight hug.

Loki grinned at his handy-work with his mother next to him, "you've been working hard I see" she motioned towards the two embracing "yes" she gently chuckled placing her hands behind her back. 

"I'm afraid that this wouldn't have happened without your interference, dearest son, I am sure she will thank you later" Frigga sauntered off before Loki had a chance to respond to her but it didn't matter much because from the happiness he saw even from here he knew she wouldn't be too mad.

"Thor, I, I know I should have spoken up earlier I was just scared of rejection" Thor let out a booming laugh, one that made her heart race.

"Reject such a lovely woman? I would never" She was holding his hands standing in front of him smiling like a fool "y-you are too kind Thor" she stammered for the first time in a long time.

"would you like to accompany me to the feast tonight? I hear that many families will be there and that way I can announce out relationship to all of Asgard's most important people!" She felt the heat rise to her face again "bu-but will I not make a fool of myself? I am not known for my smooth words-" he hushed her with a quick kiss leaving her lips tingling

"You will do fine, Milady, you are wonderful and soon everyone will see you that. They will fall in love with you just as I have, you needn't worry so much" his words were the reassurance she needed and she nodded "well, with that settled let us make haste!" he boomed pulling her along gently to get ready to have her life change for the better, forever with Thor by her side.
