Today was the day you were going to met your brother's associate, you weren't given a name only a vague description of who it was. You had spent the last few days trying hard to figure out who it was but no one you knew had match the woman described. You weren't even sure if he was being honest in telling you how she looked either or even if it was a she. You knew your brother, Bruce, was the type to tease you he always did. Even now, as the big bad Batman he teased you like he did when you were kids. He took the death of your parent's a lot harder than you had but you had always been fairly close to your grandparents more. Not to say that you didn't miss them because you did, it just wasn't as hard for you to accept it as it was for him.
"Miss Wayne? I came to tell you that your brother is waiting for you downstairs in the lounge" Alfred was a kind man, sneaky and sometimes sarcastic but kind none the less.
"Of course, let me change and I will be right down" you gave him a smile before he shut your bedroom door.
For a moment you listened to the sound of the butlers footsteps fading down the corridor before you started to change. You changed into something modest but nice, fixed your hair as best you could and took a deep breath before heading out. You were normally a calm person, nothing seemed to get to you and it was hard to make it seem that way. You were a great deal like your brother in that respect, image was everything for the Wayne family after-all.
"Hey, sis!" your brother greeted you with the same kindness he always did with a hint of nervousness coming through as he stood from his leather chair.
"Hi?" you were confused by his actions but reciprocated his sudden hug before stepping back and noticing the red head sitting on the couch next to where you were standing.
"You are?" you asked her, you weren't trying to sound rude but it must have sounded that way because your brother nudged you in the side.
"This is Barbara Gordon, the associate I was telling you about" you glanced at her again and this time took in more of her features. She had very long well kept hair, beautiful green eyes and faint freckles on her flawless pale cheeks. You were awestruck and suddenly felt very self-conscious as she looked at you.
"Sorry about that" you told her your name as you held out your hand for her to shake which she did with a wide kind smile on her face.
"It is very nice to meet you, Bruce had told me so much about you" the two of you talked and talked, nearly forgetting about your brother's existence all together but his voice interrupted your very spastic conversation. You had gone from one thing to another to something completely different but there was something about her that made talking about anything an extremely easy thing to do.
"Sis, Miss Gordon and I have somethings to attend to we'll see you in the morning." you gave her a small smile before glaring at your brother and leaving the room.
You couldn't sleep, not with how fast your mind was working and how hard it was to focus on anything else but her. You had never felt so much for just one person before and it was making your head hurt. Your thoughts however, were interrupted by two hushed voices. They were obviously the same two people that had left earlier, your brother and Barbara. You peeked out and noticed two very important things, one; she was wearing a very similar suit as Bruce and two; she wasn't just some associate.
Your curiosity getting the better of you made you follow behind them as quiet as a mouse. You wanted to know more, who was she exactly and why was she dressed like your brother and was she really who she said she was. You watched them turn a corner and as you rounded the same they were suddenly gone from view, you sighed.
"Shh" you tried hard not to scream but you did only to have it muffled harshly by a hand over your mouth.
"Relax, it's me" as a matter of fact is was her, that didn't make the moment less frightening though because now you were afraid for a laundry list of different reasons but you took a deep breath and nodded.
"Your, I mean, you are her. . ." you managed to whisper out as you took in the fact that you were in one of your brother's seemingly millions of spare bathrooms.
"You have to keep that a secret, alright? I can't have people getting a hold of that information" you grinned, you weren't sure why but you did.
"Don't worry, I won't," you started, your anxiety bubbling up in your chest.
"But one condition" she nodded removing the mask that covered her perfect face.
"You go out on a date this Saturday with me" you laughed hearing her sigh before your eyes widened at the sudden feeling of her lips on yours. The kiss was quick but it was the shock that stuck with you, it was her turn to laugh before the two of you were in an embrace.
"If that's all I have to do to keep you quiet, it's a deal."
