You were a mutant, a telepath to be exact, and you were very good at what you did. Tricking people, getting what you wanted, and anything else you could get away with. You weren't always such a mess but when you were ten you lost everything you had every had in your life and so this, causing trouble and getting into a lot of it, is what made up for the loss of stability. It was also when you figured out that you were what you were, not that it really changed you any it only made more trouble for you. You had lived so long out and about that you weren't even sure that you'd be able to live a normal life anymore. But these thoughts never stayed long because living out here you couldn't daydream often.
You weren't sure how long you'd been walking this particular day but you finally made it to your destination, the bar. It was always a great place for messing with people, men mostly but you weren't picky. Sitting across from a particularly handsome man with a taller, equally as handsome man sitting to his right you grinned. It was obvious from the empty cups on the table he was plenty drunk for you to take advantage of him.
"Hey boys, mind if I have a seat?" You smiled your prettiest after having traversed a particularly crowded floor to get to them.
"No, no not at all!" He had an ever so slight English accent to accompany his large smile while the other man seemed unimpressed.
"Thank you, Love." You flirty your heart out and once you felt it was safe to do so, you started to read his mind. Only bits and pieces of it at first and then slowly more and more came into yours but it wasn't hard to figure out what he wanted, he was drunk after-all.
"Wanna dance?" You smiled pulling his arm slightly and he followed without hesitation.
"Sure, I'm not particularly great but what could it hurt!" He was one of the most flattering and pleasant men you had ever tried to win over.
"You know," he slurred his words ever so slightly, he certainly could handle his alcohol. "You are very pretty, I don't know if people tell you or not but they should because you are."
His arms held your waist and suddenly you lost your nerve, you couldn't scam him out of his money or anything valuable that he might have. He was too nice, too concerned even drunk for you to feel alright with taking from him. You felt terrible, and with that you simply smiled kindly at him as he talked revealing to you something you had not known. He too was a telepath and he was also very good at it.
"You're a telepath?" You hesitated to even ask him but he nodded quite unafraid to admit this to a strange girl.
"Yeah, I am and if you want to know a secret I know you are too and I also know what you've been up to this whole time." The dancing stopped and you were nervously starting to back away from him but his arms held you against him.
"Don't worry, I don't plan on giving you away but I would like to ask you a question." You looked into his blue eyes and suddenly he didn't seem so drunk. He was acting as though he was the whole time. You had thought you were playing a game with him but he had you figured out before you even started it.
"Sure, shoot." You finally relaxed and the both of you went along with the music as it started up again to seem less suspicious.
"I have a mission, one that involves mutant like yourself, becoming more confident and giving them a safe home to come back to. I want to explore all of the aspects of mutations, I want to give them hope and safety as well as power to believe in themselves. Would you like to come along and help me with that?" He asked as you both moved slowly around the floor together. You caught a glimpse of the other man that was with him and he looked thoroughly annoyed by the grimace on his face but you didn't have the time to worry about him.
"Alright, but, how about we start over? What's your name?" You asked giving him an apologetic smile, one he accepted immediately.
"Charles Xavier, yours?" You told him your name and from then on you two had formed quite a strange friendship. Erik didn't approve of anything you did or said and always had something to say about it but Charles always backed you up. Slowly, year after year, you were right beside him and eventually without the need for words you two were an inseparable couple.
