You were well liked amongst the Avengers team and even though you enjoyed being around them you always did feel a little bit lonely and left out. Even though all of them listened well and gave some great advice, except for Tony but we all know he's bad at it, you just never felt comfortable enough to tell them some of the things you had longed to get off of your chest so that is where the little book you had in your had came in. You had to write things down, it kept you sane really because of all of the things you've seen and done you couldn't imagine how you would be if you hadn't started this little habit. You shuddered thinking about being locked in a padded cell, you hated small spaces and containment but that's a story for some other time. . .
You were twirling the pen in your hand thinking of what you wanted to vent out to this tiny little book when you were so rudely interrupted by a certain speedster.
"Pietro!" you growled trying to reach for the book that he had nabbed when he came bursting into the room.
"If you're hoping for some secret love life or crush you're going to be disappointed" you crossed your arms and tapped your foot impatiently waiting for him to give the book back to you.
"Damn, I vas hoping for zome interesting details too" he joked as he handed you the book back but you were not laughing because what was in that book was nothing to laugh at. It held some dark secrets and some painful memories that you did not need the team to find out so you always hid it on you so they wouldn't be tempted to look inside.
"Are you going to just stand there or what?" you grumbled as he shrugged his broad shoulder still not moving. You rolled your eyes and grabbed your pen that you had sat on the desk when Pietro had come in and began to scribble down what you had been going through that day.
It should have been at least somewhat awkward for you since Pietro was hovering around you but for some reason you didn't feel that uncomfortable feeling. You felt. . .safe. It was a foreign feeling, the feeling of being safe and comfortable around another human being but there he was and you were content with just him company. You found yourself thinking more and more about him and less about writing, so you gave up tossing the book and pen on the nightstand next to you.
"Pietro, why are you still here?" You asked finally looking into his eyes only to feel incredibly self-conscious.
"I don't know, it is just very comfortable to be around you" he admitted before finally sitting down next to you.
". . .same" you whispered keeping your eyes glued to the blank television that sat across the room from you.
"Pietro, would you still stick around if I told you what was in that book?" you were so incredible hesitant to ask that you had almost not asked it at all and told him he should go back to his sister and the rest of the team and leave you alone.
"I vould, I don't plan on going anyvere" he smiled slowly interlocking your fingers, the warmth from his hand was new to you and you flinched slightly.
"Then keep me company?" you whispered squeezing his hand "Alvays" he grinned pulling you closer to his side where you spent hours talking to him about every single thing you did and have done but he stayed, and he's been keeping you company every since.
