You were sitting in your room, a place you spent a great deal of your time in. Not because your were sad or because you wanted to hide you simply felt happiest here. When you weren't doing your daily tasks that had become so routine that anyone could find you without trouble throughout the day you were here. You were humming along to the song playing on your radio, filling your room with a pleasant sound that made it soothing. You were a fan of all sorts of music from the oldies to current hits, you loved them all because music always seemed to tell you a story of the times.

You switched off the radio and put your I-pod on shuffle letting it play everything you had currently on the device. Getting tired of the new stuff and wanting something older and more classic you decided to choose something that Steve had brought up to you in a conversation. The quick beat made you smile and move in place on the bed until you had to get up and dance along with the beat on your own.

Bucky had been here in the huge house with you and Steve every since Steve had convinced those he could that Bucky was a good man. You had seen this first hand both sides of Bucky had become common ground for you but you remained a steadfast and loyal friend. He wasn't used to that in a person, having more then one person on his side was also something he wasn't quite used to or even sure he'd ever be. He never took it for granted though each chance he had to thank you or Steve he would do so because to him he wasn't worth the trouble anyone had gone through for his sake.

Bucky was so lost in his on thoughts that when he found himself walking through the halls towards the familiar music he stopped startled. This wasn't the forties and it certainly wasn't common place for him to just walk into your room without warning. You hardly left the door completely shut, you didn't want to feel closed off completely so you left it ajar most of the time. Bucky knew this because he had noticed with how often he paced and how common it had become for him to simply pass by your room to check up on you.

He didn't want it to slip out that you meant more to him then he had ever planned on letting you. He didn't want to know you but he did, he didn't want to like you but he does and he certainly did not want to love you but he did. He made himself move forwards and stopped at your door debating on whether or not to knock or just pass by again. He peeked in and noticed your dancing around the room and then actually took in the music, he had a few flash backs of the times when he'd take girls dancing to it back when he was still a good man.

"AH!" You huffed and laughed lightly before coming to a complete stop.

"Oh! Hey Bucky!" You said over the music heading over to turn it down before going back to your door.

"Hey." He said with a hint of hesitation but you didn't understand why.

"Wanna come in here with me? I mean you looked like you wanted to come in." You asked pulling the door open completely and stepping aside to let him in your room. You had taken a sit against your pillows watching him cautiously make his way into the room.

"You don't have to worry about being in here, Buck, it's fine." You reassured him with a kind smile and he sat on the end of your bed.

"I like your music." He said suddenly and you chuckled.

"Believe it or not Steve told me about it." He couldn't help but laugh.

"He was always more into the music then the girls." You could tell from where you sat he was just making idle conversation and something more was bothering him. You made a bold move and moved to sit next to him on the end of your bed.

"Bucky, what's on your mind?" You asked grabbing his hand and leaning your head on his right shoulder.

For a few moments he didn't, couldn't, say anything for fear that his words would become a stumbling and rambling mess. You gave him time though, patient and understanding as always. Something about Bucky mesmerized you, it could of been his piercing blue eyes or handsome face or the small little smirks he'd make before he'd say what he was thinking. You didn't know what it was exactly but it was something akin to unmistakable affection to him as a person.

"I wanted to thank you for being there for me, for being so kind when I deserved none of it. I'm not so great with this anymore but I wanted to know if, maybe, you'd like to hang out with me in town or something." You smiled nodding your head on his shoulder.

"I'd like that, oh I love this song! Can we hang out now and dance?" You asked standing up and in front of him.

"Oh, well it's been an awful long time since I've danced so I may not be very good at it." He confessed but you didn't care all you wanted was to dance with him.

"Oh it's not about being good, Buck, it's about having fun and being with the one you love!" You smiled as he pulled you into his chest and you placed your arms around his neck.

Back and forth you two swayed, your hands gently messing with his brown hair as his held you close against him like and iron vice that you never wanted to be released from. You found yourself resting your head on his left shoulder completely un-phased by the metal underneath the fabric of his shirt. You were so entranced by the music and this moment with Bucky that nothing else in the world mattered.

"I don't know if this is too early to say this or not but I'm going to say that I really care about you. Probably more then I should but I can't help myself, thank you so much for giving me a chance." You pulled your head from his shoulder and placed a light kiss on his lips and he was left completely mesmerized.
