Hawks x Reader
****
He was somewhere above you, because you could hear the swooping sounds of his wings.
Your lungs burned, your sides ached, and your eyes watered. You tried to ignore your impeding doom, tried to have hope that he would give up and leave you alone. His voice would echo all around you; taunting you.
Twigs broke and snapped under your feet, and some were tangled in your hair. The trees above provided some protection and seclusion, but the sound of your feet alerted him just how far you were going.
You couldn't run anymore. It was too much; you were beyond exhausted. You stopped and placed your hand on a nearby tree, trying to catch your breath. Any minute now, he could swoop down and take you. No one would ever find you, miss you, or search for you. You'd be all alone.
"I need to keep going...just...a little longer..." you said to nobody.
You pushed yourself off of the tree, and instead of running like before, you pathetically limped a few feet further.
Something soft brushed your cheek, and then it was gone. You stopped walking, and looked down to the ground. There in the dirt, was a single crimson feather.
He was right above you, watching everything.
You hesitantly looked up towards the sky, and there he was. He smiled down at you innocently, as if what was happening wasn't horrifying in the slightest. With you still looking, he plucked a few more feathers from his wings and let them fall down to you.
I'm watching you.
You took off sprinting again. Fear had its grip on your heart. Your legs wanted to rest so badly, but you couldn't. Not while he was chasing you.
Go, go, go!
The trees started to become sparser and less clumped, and you could briefly see the city lights of Tokyo. You cried in relief, and suddenly, your legs carried you even faster. Freedom was so close, just a little bit farther. You wouldn't be killed and buried somewhere secret, you'd have a family, you'd see your children have children of their own.
No.
You skidded to a stop when a harsh whoosh landed in front of you. There he stood, his grin stretching to his ears. His wings flared out to prevent you from going around him.
"You didn't think I'd let you get this close on accident, did you?" He started to close the distance between you both.
You couldn't speak. To get farther away from him, you took small steps backwards.
Keigo's eyes caught something shiny on the ground behind you. If he was gentlemen, he would have alerted you. He stepped even closer to you.
"I wouldn't dare think of killing you, Y/N. Sometimes though, I may have to take certain measures to ensure you understand."
"...Understand what?"
You felt it.
That last step you took, something cold sprung up from the ground and clenched around your leg. You screamed out in pain, and fell to the ground. Blood spurted from your leg, and the teeth like protrusions dug deeper into your flesh. You continued to cry and wail, while Keigo looked at you with false sympathy.
"Oh, you poor baby. I forgot to tell you about the bear traps scattered around here. Silly me."
You screamed even more when he abruptly stomped on your injured leg, causing the device to twist and turn.
"If I remove this, will you finally listen to me, Y/N?
You quickly nodded, desperate to have the contraption removed. You had no idea if you'd ever be able to walk normally again.
Keigo hummed in approval, and in a split second, used both of his hands to pry the bear trap off of your leg.
Now free, you tried scooting backwards, but a soft touch on your hip stopped you.
"What did I say about compliance? If you changed your mind? I can always put it back on..." Keigo flattened the bear trap to its original form, and set it on the ground by your feet.
He was close to putting your other leg in it, but then it all disappeared.

You jumped up in your bed. Your shirt was damp with sweat and sticked to your back, and even your sheets were soaked with it.
Pulling back the covers, you saw that your legs looked fine. There were no marks or blood. Nothing unusual.
You laid back down, trying to ease your fast beating heart.
"What a horrible dream..." You turned back on your side, prepared to go back to sleep, when something soft tickled your skin.
You sucked in a breath. You were too scared to open your eyes and see.
Peeking them open, you saw a red feather beside your pillow.
He was still watching you.
