It was such a strange feeling graduating from high-school. Society deemed you as an adult, but honestly, it felt the opposite. You still wanted to do 'kid' things. In addition to that, you felt extremely nervous when moving out of your parents' home and into your own. The new sound of silence was welcoming but uncomfortable.

You didn't get into UA unlike your friends, but it was because you didn't plan on becoming a hero. Your quirk wasn't all that bad, but it didn't have any other purpose other than aesthetics. You could bend light and darkness to your will. Nothing special, really.

Although, you still took the time to see your friends. Izuku was your best friend, because you could talk to him about anything. After the both of you graduated, all contact ceased. Your heart broke at first, but quickly hardened.

What are friends good for anyway...

This newfound hatred evolved into something more. You started to despise heroes, especially the ones you knew from before. Occasionally, you'd see Izuku on TV with Katsuki or Todoroki. They too stopped talking to you after graduation.

Do I not matter anymore?

You were accepted into the LOV with open arms months later. They were like a new family; a family that actually cared about you. These new friends gave a damn about you unlike the prior ones.

Before, you deemed your quirk useless. Toga and Dabi convinced you that it was more useful than you thought. Your enemies could easily be blinded by both light and darkness, but that was it mainly. It couldn't be used to inflict damage, but spared enough time to allow you and other villains to flee unseen.

Your leader, Shigaraki, devised something new. His hatred for heroes was far more greater than yours. He wanted Toga, Dabi, and you to patrol the streets of Tokyo and erase any heroes in sight. It would send a message to All Might and Endeavor that the LOV meant business.

All three of you set out around midnight, and cleared out the suburbs. Minor heroes were quickly incinerated, and others were lured from Toga's quirk. If one proved to be a little strong, your quirk turned them immobile and defenseless.

The pleasure of taking them down was...concerning. Is this how psychopaths thought? They enjoyed killing, yes? Well you technically weren't the one killing, you just made the process easier for the others.

The three of you started to venture out towards the main parts of the city, and scared away any wandering citizens. It was more quiet than it should've been. You were hoping Izuku would be here, but it would be a slim chance of defeating him.

You kept walking, oblivious to your partners who had dropped.

"Y/N! Wait a sec!" Toga called out from behind you.

Turning your head, you couldn't understand why they both stopped walking. Dabi looked annoyed, and Toga almost showed the slightest bit of fear.

In between Dabi's fingers, was a bright red feather. With a snarl, he summoned a bright blue flame to engulf it. The feather was gone within seconds.

You didn't necessarily recognize what Dabi and Toga did. It was just a stupid feather, what gives? With a huff, you continued walking.

"We have heroes to beat, what's the big deal?"

You stopped in your tracks seeing a feather fall down in front of you. Looking up, you didn't see anything. A few more fell to the ground around you. Just then, Dabi was pinned against the side of a building. A man with blond hair and crimson wings had his bicep against Dabi's throat.

Toga brandished a knife from the shadow realm, and went full speed at the man with wings. You felt relieved knowing that this 'hero' would soon be no more, but recognition started to creep into your head. From the times you briefly watched T.V. at the bar, this man's face became more familiar.

Wait a minute.

Hawk's wings blew Toga to the side, and with Hawk distracted, Dabi easily wormed his way out of the hero's grip. Both Dabi and Toga took off running in the opposite direction.

Did they abandon me?

You screamed their names, pleading with them to wait for you. Dabi turned his head, but didn't show any remorse. They both turned down an alleyway, and you never saw them again.

They're all the same.

A heavy hand was placed on your shoulder, making you tensed. You felt the subtle breath from his mouth tickle your neck, and his other hand trailed little patterns along your arm.

"You don't belong with those villains, what made you think they accepted you?"

You squeezed your eyes shut, commanding the tears to not flow. The hot sensation was behind your eyes. Your throat started to constrict and...

His arms scooped you from underneath, and he held you close to his chest. He led you down a dark alleyway, and set you on the ground. Hawk's touch was so gentle, was this another trick? Your heart wanted to believe it wasn't, but your mind was sending alarms throughout your body to run.

You were tired of running; tired of people throwing you away like garbage. What was your worth? Why did life turn out like this? Joining a petty league of villains, just to spite the heroes who turned their back on you? Maybe.

Fingers parted your hair, making your face visible. You had lost the battle with containing your tears, and they ran rampant down your cheeks and chin. The small part of you didn't care anymore about how silly you appeared to others.
Life wasn't fair. You did nothing to deserve this. Let them think whatever they want.

"My protocol demands me to put you in a dark, cold, and miserable cell until trial takes place. You don't want that, do you?" His fingers wiped away the tears from your eyes and face.

"No...please don't...I just want someone to..." Hiccups escaped your throat, and stopped you from saying what you wanted all along.

His wings encased the both of you in warmth and darkness. Looking up, your heart skipped a beat seeing his amber eyes glow. They were solely focused on you.

"What's your name?" His lips were so close.

"Y/N, is this another silly trick...?" The tips of his feathers tickled your face.

"Of course not, Y/N."

And just like that, you were a pawn to someone else's game. This world full of heroes and villains was all a lie. No one was genuine; no one wanted to help you. They laughed at your naivety, and offered their hand to help. In the very end, they disposed of you after getting what they wanted.

This time, it would be a little different. Instead of throwing you away, he'd keep you locked inside a cage. You would be his prize; his glory. There was no way to escape now, his claws were in too deep.

I won't throw you away, we'll be together until the end.
