(Chapter 155) Voidlings.

As you slowly walk up the stairs of the palace, you cannot help but feel an eerie feeling on your back, as if someone is watching you. The stairs go on for a long way and are very thin. If someone were to fall, it'd take time to drop to the bottom.

RHT: What crazy architect made this? And more importantly, why the hell did they pay him..?

You facepalm and let out a deep sigh. Whilst looking at the material the tower was made up of, a silver arrow comes flying directly at you. In an instant, you react and catch the arrow with your hand, before turning to see who is there.

RHT: I've gotten ambushed so many times, it's become predictable.
MKN: The pleasure's mine, harbinger.
RHT: Who are you supposed to be?
MKN: We are the creatures who've experienced death and got a second chance at life. We are the goner force, and we'll be taking you down.
RHT: You and what for-

From the darkness of the tower emerge three other monsters with the same colorless appearance. You look at them unamused.

RHT: Cool name. What yall be doing, rock and roll?
MKN: That silver tongue of yours is very annoying, but I'll make you shut up soon, weakness.
RHT: Come at me, depressed monsters.

You go to draw your blade, but to your surprise, your hand can't unsheathe it. Confused and off your guard, Kane jumps off the wall and tries to deliver a kick but you dodge underneath.

RHT: (My body feels so heavy. Must be his ability.)

You move around Kane and jump to the next set of steps, gaining distance from him, but another of the monsters jumps at you from above. Plint smashes into the steps, causing you to back up a bit.

PLN: Hiya! I've been waiting to fight you!
RHT: Go to hell, weirdo.
PLN: Just try to keep up!

Plint teleports around you consecutively. He throws in punches in between each movement, but in one of them, he teleports one second too late.

RHT: Got you.
*WHOOSH*
PLN: Not so easy!
RHT: Tsk, annoying.

Plint teleports away and taunts you. Another monster comes from behind him and whispers something into his ear. Plint looks at him with a angry look.

PLN: But Kane said it's my turn!
SPT: Your turn is over.
PLN: Fine!

Plint unwillingly moves back and lets room for Spector to approach. He adjusts his glasses and glares at you with a smug look.

SPT: Now I understand that you, a lesser intelligent being, might not fully grasp the situation you are in right now, so allow me to show how much stronger the four of us are.
RHT: Uh huh, let's not spend any time.

Spector cracks his knuckles. You unbuckle your blade and drop it on the ground. Kane glances at you two with a pale expression.
