(Chapter 117) In the Shadows.

As you continue walking on the path, the feeling of something lingering behind you gets closer and closer until you feel something grab your shoulder. You turn around, seeing nothing but darkness.

RHT: (Must of been my imagination.)

You turn back and go forwards. After a while of walking, you leave the darkness and find yourself in a small town square with beautiful lights and shiny fountain in the middle. It's lively.

RHT: (I've gotta be careful.)

You push yourself into the crowd and move along. The bright lights illuminate the area even in nighttime. The moon in the sky barely helps in lighting up the surroundings.

RHT: (Why would they install so many lights?)

While blending in with the crowd, you overhear people talking about yesterday.

CV1: It sure was cold yesterday!
CV2: Yeah! Did you hear?
CV1: Hear what?
CV2: The water of the lake froze!

They're talking about how the lake froze but don't know that Aurora was the cause of that. You push through them and arrive at a supermarket front, sitting down on the bench.

RHT: *sigh* I'm lost.
JGK: Rhett, you could ask someone for directions.
RHT: That didn't work out well last time.
JGK: You're right. What do you suppose then?
RHT: I say we get on top of one of these buildings and maneuver from there.
JGK: Which one are you looking at?
RHT: That one.

You point towards an old abandoned building. Jiguko nods in agreement. As you are getting up, a young lady leaves the supermarket and bumps into you.

LCI: Oh sorry! I'm so clumsy!
RHT: It's quite alright. Let me help you with that.

You help the lady pick up her groceries.

LCI: Thank you so much!
RHT: Don't mention it.
LCI: I was just getting the groceries for the week so I can cook something nice for my husband and...

She rambles on and on about her day. Your mind unfocuses and wonders on how you're going to get up that building.

LCI: So what do you say?
RHT: Hmm? Sorry, what were you asking me again?
LCI: Here's my address. Come over for dinner if you're free! We're very welcoming!
RHT: I'll think about it.
JGK: (No, you won't.)

Lucia waves at you and walks the opposite way. You wave as well and start heading towards the building. Jiguko shuts the door behind and you start heading up the floors. After you arrive at the top, you take a look at the land far away from you, taking in the natural beauty of this world that's being destroyed by those selfish bastards. It fuels your despair. Suddenly, that same feeling you felt earlier appears again, but this time, it feels real. You turn around and swing your blade, slicing in half whatever is stretching out of the shadows.

RHT: What the hell?!
RIQ: Hello, harbinger.

A shadowy figure emerges from the darkness and smiles at you sinisterly. You clench your blade tight.
