A persons' fears are numerous, as they reach incomprehensible depths. As long as they live, a person always fears, but from each of those fears, only one can be haunt them after their death, the fear of ending up in hell, the afterlifes' torture chamber. To be unfortunate enough to end up in hell, one must be morally evil. That is, in the gods' eyes. Humanitys' perception of good and bad has been disconfigured over the course of centuries, but despite that, some still manage to be impure enough to fall into it, while others stumble into it by mere chance.
CHR: Well this doesn't look promising.
Chara exits through the tear in space and steps into the realm of evil. She scratches her head and questions where she ended up in.
CHR: This isn't my world, but it feels like I belong here.
Chara stares into the endless abyss of hell. Pain that doesn't belong to her crawls on her back. She feels chills running down her spine.
CHR: I've gotta get outta here and quick!
Suddenly, she feels a hand press on her shoulder. Chara slowly turns her head around to peek at what's resting on her shoulder.
???: Young... l-lady... you have to follow me.
Charas' eyes light up bright red. She pulls out her knife and cuts the unknown beings' hand. It drops to the ground, withering away to ashes in a second. Chara dashes around it and stops her knife at its' neck.
???: It is... futile, as I don't feel... pain.
CHR: Tsk, what the hell are you?The unknown figure takes the shape of a rotting away old man. Chara strengthens her grip and releases a menacing aura.
???: Please understand, lady. I'm only a mess-
CHR: Enough.
*SLASH*Chara chops the figures' head off. It drops to the ground. She backs up. The figure bends over and reattaches its' head.
MSG: I beg you to listen.
CHR: Alright, you've convinced me.
MSG: (Wasn't she trying to kill me a moment ago?)
CHR: So what's your message, messenger? The messenger takes out a note and hands it to Chara.
MSG: This note is issued by the one who shall not be named.
CHR: Yah yah, whatever.
MSG: (This lady... she's so arrogant!)Chara reads the notes' first line, before throwing into the air and shredding it into pieces. The messenger watches in shock.
MSG: But you didn't have time to read it all!
CHR: I didn't. All I needed to read was that I had to meet him at the deepest layer of hell.
MSG: But the cautions you're supposed to take?!
CHR: Don't need them. After all, I am the strongest.
MSG: Ah, I see. Pardon me in that case.
CHR: So where am I supposed to go?
MSG: Right down there. Taking the stairs will take you to the second layer of hell, realm of the envious. Be warned, as they are very dangerous if not kept an eye on.
CHR: Thanks for informing me, gramps.
MSG: It's my dut-Chara leaps off the hill and dives downwards, without thinking twice. The messenger sighs. Descending rapidly through the abyss, Chara lands on top of a molten pit of lava. She notices a sign that reads: "Now entering realm of the envious. Continue if you dare."

-- Did ya know? --
Soultale has gone through many variations and that can be apparent from the some continuity errors here and there, but don't be disappointed! This final version is way better! For example, the first ever version was only going to be 30 chapters long! That's less than what Volume IV is!
