George POV:

I look into my husband's glistening eyes. I can tell he is proud, but all that can ring through my mind is take a break.

"Hey, our kid is pretty great!"

Dream slowly makes his way back up the stairs, eyes flickering between Tommy and I. We could run away for the summer, even go upstate! I know he has so much in his plate, but I have hope in my eyes. I have hope he will stop at one step and come back down, to congratulate or hug Tommy.

There is a lake I know, in a nearby park. I would love to go, and Dream and I can visit when the night gets dark.

But he never stops. He keeps going up the steps to his man cave, going back in his writing coop. I stare at the stairs too long.

I know I have been looking too long when Tommy hugs my legs. I loose hope and frown.

"It is okay Dad. It is enough for me that he even came down."
