Dream POV:

The two sigh, knowing I will refuse to budge.

"Well, George, I will be at the carriage."

When Fundy leaves with Tommy to the carriage, George grabs me by the hands. He looks up at me with a soft but weak smile.

"Take a break?"

I sigh. I thought this convincing was over!

"George I can not delay."

"Come one, be free! Let us go upstate!"

"George, I desperately need to write. I can not lose my job!"

George frowns.

"Am I not enough?"

"No it is not that-"

"Are we not enough? You brought a child into our home, yet you have been absent."

I pause, not sure of what to say. George continues.

"After summer, I will return with our child, and you will be there too. Remember, we do not need the money, we do not need a legacy! The fact that you are alive is a miracle..."

His voice comes to a concluded halt. I kiss his head and he walks off, mumbling something I almost miss.

"And that would be enough."
