"Hey, Kimimela?" He said, Kim pulled back, staring at him.

"Hey, Pablo," she said, managing a smile and looking at her Abuela, wondering why he had her bag.

"Ummm, Nos conocimos en la iglesia y decidió llevarme a casa" she replied, Kim inhaled and reached out for her bag. (We met at church and he decided to take me home)

"I didn't know you'd be in Mexico, you said you were in-"

"Yeah, I just got here... I actually, umm, came to see my mother," she replied,

"Joven, ¿por qué no te unes a nosotros para cenar esta noche?" Abuela said, Kim shook her head and then laughed when his gaze met hers. (Young man, why don't you join us for dinner tonight?)

"Sure, I'd love to," he replied.

Abuela gasped and took her hands, "¿Es este el anillo?" She asked Kim nodded and her eyes lifted to Pablo, he stared at the ring. (Is this the ring?)

"You're getting married?" He asked Kim darted around, licking her lips and she replied.

"Yeah... I am" she said, trying to calm her roaring heart, first of all, she didn't think she would meet Pablo this way, Pablo is a childhood friend who also lives across her house, but he was richer and her first crush. He also knew that, because she had confessed her feelings to him at the wrong time.

"Kim, Miran's calling," Lara said, Kim looked back and hurriedly let go of Abeula's hands.

"Excuse me," she said, turned over, grabbed the phone, and headed upstairs.

"Hey," she picked up.

"Hey, what's going on? What do you mean you won't be coming home tonight? We didn't discuss that, Kim"

Kim opened her mouth to speak, but words had disappeared from her head, she had no idea if words came out, her problem was how the heck was she going to be eating dinner with Pablo, ever since the rejection she had avoided such gatherings.

Miran breathed over the phone, "Baby, listen..."

"Oh, yes... I'm sorry, I didn't tell you, I thought you already figured it out, and about the appointment can you reschedule for tomorrow morning?"

"Sure, I can... But Kimimela," he sighed, and she heard a door close, he probably was just leaving work.

"Kimimela!" She heard Lara call, Kim sighed, frustratedly.

"I'm sure you can handle a day or night without me," she said, with a fake small laugh, hoping that pleased him.

"No, no puedo princesa", he replied, Kim flushed. (No, I can't princess)

"Me tengo que ir, te amo, bebé," she said, Miran remained silent and she immediately hung up. (I have to go, I love you baby).

Kim rushed back downstairs, and when she arrived, Pablo was gone, Kim breathed out heavily, like she had been holding her breath for the longest time.

"You seriously didn't invite him to dinner?"

"Yeah, I think she did," Lara replied, Kim glared at her mother and she wasn't helping at all.

"Abuela, vamos, sabes lo incómodo que sería para mí" she said, as they both stared at each other. (Grandma, come on, you know how awkward that would be for me.)

"¿Donde él?" She asked instead, Kimimela took her hair back, confused. "¿Tu prometido, no lo he conocido y no pudo venir?" Kim exhaled. (Where's he?) (Your fiancé, I haven't met him and he couldn't come?)

"He's busy, and he would probably come tomorrow, but Pablo, don't change the topic." She sighed.

"I am not changing the topic, I just thought it would be nice to pay him a little for the drive," Her Abuela said. Kim nodded,

"Then dinner was the perfect thing you thought of, I thought I'd come over here to discuss my marriage, Abuela... I wanted to make plans with you both," Kim said, pouting.

She looked at Kim and chuckled, darting at Lara and back to Kim, "¡Bueno! ¡Bien! Pero ya lo invité, tenemos toda la noche para hacer planes para la boda", (Okay! Fine! But I already invited him, we have the whole night to make plans for the wedding,)

"Great!" She sighed heavily.

"Why don't you change and come downstairs, we have a lot to cook, since we should be celebrating your upcoming wedding," Abuela said, Kim looked back at her, and she quickly smiled.

"Uh, I agree with mother, change and come back down, we should also be stuck from food for Miran when he comes tomorrow," Lara said, and they both nodded.

"Whatever," she said, and rushed upstairs to her bedroom.

An hour later, Kimimela stood in the kitchen chopping onions for Abuela since she was the only one who knew how to cook perfectly. They all remained silent until the doorbell rang, Kim's eyes closed, she knew who that was, Pablo. It was already past six in the evening.

She was in the kitchen, preparing dinner along with her Abuela.

"I got it!" Lara said, and rushed towards the door, as soon as she opened the door she gasped, "¡Guau! ¿Estos son para mí?" She asked if Kim could see her taking a bunch of yellow tulips, and she blinked severally and speechlessly, yellow tulips were, of course, her mother's favourite. (Wow! Are these for me?)

"Tu hija me dice que la amas" A deep male voice echoed, Kim, froze at the familiar voice. She had told one person that was, Miran. (Your daughter tells me that she loves them)

"Come on in, Miran," Lara said, Kim dropped the knife instantly and her jaw dropped.

"Wine, Mrs. Cortes," He said, Kim's mouth opened, she knew exactly what wine he had offered.

"Oh... Chateau Margaux 1787?"

"Pareces saber de vinos más que tu hija," He said with a smile, once he walked in, his eyes met Kimimela, frozen. (You seem to know wines more than your daughter,)
