thorns and other maladies

i think i've given up on the meadow
on watering the flowers at just the right time
on trying to force the sun to shine on it
on carefully coaxing new buds to bloom
they are wilting anyway
regardless of how hard i try to stop it
so i suppose
i'll just let nature run it's course.
