i look at the girl that loved you
and observe
watch her sob on the bathroom floor
while you scream about how childish she is
and see her grow small
watch her crawl into your arms
after you tell her about the other girl
and see her grow even smaller
i look at her face as you belittle her
calling her stupid and crazy
making her feel stupid and crazy
and watch her shrink down so small
she can't even see herself anymore
only you and every bitter thing you are
and then i look at her again
as you leave her
with her tiny little heart bleeding out
watch her notice her size
see her remember how big she used to be
watch her start to grow big
inch by inch
and then
i kneel
i pray
and thank the universe
for letting you leave me
