Ye Kaili was curled up in Zewu Jun's robe dozing off. She had been in and out of sleep for a little while. She soon felt a presence in the room that made her feel uneasy. She popped her head out of the sleeve she was burrowed in and saw a man sitting at the table. Zewu Jun sat across from him and they seemed to be having some sort of serious conversation. Concern was written all over Zewu Jun's face. Kaili raises up a bit causing Zewu Jun to look at her. His expression changed to a calm demeanor and a soft smile appeared.
"Er-Ge?" The other man questioned.
"Oh, Wangji is still recovering from the whipping, he is not talking much," Zewu Jun said looking back at the man.
"Was there something more between him and Wei Wuxian then we realized?" The man asked.
"Honestly, I think so," Zewu Jun replied, "he went against his own people to protect Wei Wuxian. He confessed to Wuxian," he sighed, "but Wei Wuxian is dead. Wangji doesn't want to believe it and has been trying to reach out to him through inquiry."
Kaili was now curious about what was happening. This Wangji person was injured and still trying to find someone. This Wei Wuxian died, but Kaili doesn't know why. Wangji liked Wei Wuxian and now mourns for him. Kaili, being able to cultivate plants, knew an herb that could help heal Wangji's injuries. She'd have to be alone to summon the herb but she will when she can.
Thinking about injuries, Kaili turned to look at her tail. It was wrapped up in bandages and covered in blood. They looked like they needed changing. Kaili started to slither around slowly on the bed and tried to look for a way off. Zewu Jun noticed her and excused himself to the man in front of him for a moment. Zewu Jun went over to Kaili and offered his hand. Kaili immediately slithered up his arm, coiling around it to hold onto him. Zewu Jun then got fresh water and bandages and went back to the table where the man was.
"Er-Ge, when did you get a snake?"
"I found a couple of my disciples picking on it. One even threw a dagger at it, cutting it's tail. It's close to winter and I just decided to let it stay here as it heals and if it wants to leave when spring comes, it can," Zewu Jun said removing the old bandages.
Kaili kept her gaze in the man across from Zewu Jun. Something about this man made her feel uneasy. She couldn't tell why but even just his smile seemed misguided. She felt like she needed to be careful with this man. He had an advantageous face, with fair skin and distinct pupils. His features are clean, attractive, and ingenious, with the shadow of a smile playing on the corners of his lips and brows.
His figure was even a bit small. His robes were embroidered with a white peony motif and bears a vermilion mark on his forehead. Kaili could have sworn she felt some malicious energy on him but it was subtle and she felt it was suppressed by something. Though this man looks as if he was the kind of person who would rather bow than die.
Zewu Jun set Kaili on a little makeshift bed he made on the table of her so she could be beside him. He then went to get a small tub of warm water and a cloth to clean her wound.
When Kaili saw the small tub of water she really wanted to just soak in its warmth. So she tried to go in it. Zewu Jun stopped her with his hand. Kaili hissed as she was a bit upset he stopped her.
"I am sure you want to be in this warm water but it is just to clean your wound. It is wise not to let the wound sit under water," Zewu Jun told her.
Kaili hissed once more and let him just finish tending to her wound.
Zewu Jun then gently grabbed her just under her neck to move her back to her little bed. Kaili hissed a bit as she was startled but then was quiet as she was now able to slither around again after she was let go. She ventured up Zewu Jun's arm and behind his neck. She came out from behind his neck from the other side and slithered down his shoulder. She then moved down to his chest. She was positioned as if she was hanging from Zewu Jun.
