Ye Kaili was created gods. She was a deity, and snake spirit. At thirty thousand years of age, she was to live in the cultivation world for some time to learn the ways of the people.

Kaili has never felt so degraded and heartbroken like this before. Her abilities and actions were questioned and she felt she just lost her trust with Lan Xichen. She felt like something was wrong but she couldn't figure out what it was.
At the moment, she turned to her human form and snuck over to the Jingshi to see Wangji and A'Yuan. She felt that she needed a distraction and maybe a chance to talk about what happened. She thought maybe Wangji might have some answers or advice. Though she didn't realize that she was turning to someone who has a hard time with communicating with others well.
She dressed in thick light blue robes with a floral pattern and a thick and fuzzy matching shall. Despite being cold blooded, she felt warm with in those robes. Trying to stay warm at the moment was actually quite difficult due to her and Xichen's misunderstanding.

Kaili walked over to the Jingshi slowly. She remembers the way as she was taking by Xichen many times. Wangji let her in and he was surprised to see her without Xichen. A'Yuan was taking a nap so Kaili decided to tell Wangji what happened.
She explained to him what exactly happened and the words that were exchanged. Wangji felt a little familiar with some things as he wanted support from his brother a few times and felt like he was not important enough because he valued another person over his own blood.
"He snapped at you?" Wangji asked concerned.
Kaili nodded, "I know he probably didn't mean what he said but I just felt hurt. I saved him from being poisoned and he just tells me to go away basically."
"He will come around. He feels hurt for being betrayed by Jin Guangyao," Wangji said, "I felt that way at first with Wei Ying but I found out that he was not like that so I guess this is a bit different."
Kaili nodded, "well, my purpose for coming to the cultivation world was to have more experience with people. They didn't bother to warn me it can be painful," she said.
Wangji huffed, "it can be," he said.
"So what will happen with Jin Guangyao now?" Kaili asked.
"He will be investigated more," Wangji said, "try to find out why he wanted to poison my brother."
"I feel conflicted, it was like when I am in my snake form, I can sense the intention from the people around me a lot more then usual. I can sense other's emotions and auras. It was like I could tell something was off about him. I didn't get the chance to tell Xichen but I could even sense resentment from him," She explained.
"Are you sure? About the resentful energy, I mean?" Wangji asked.
Kaili nodded, "remember how I told you only certain people can handle it?"
Wangji nodded, "yes."
"Well, my friend Hua Cheng can because he is a supreme ghost king. Wei Wuxian could because he was picked by the true gods, specifically the demon god Tian Qi to be the next Yin and Yang Master. Tian Qi is the god that helps keep the peace between the demons and the celestials. So anyone from the ghost realm can handle it, Tian Qi and Wei Wuxian can all handle the energy but Jin Guangyao cannot," she explained.
